Punishment for quitting?

I know there it is bad to quit halfway into a game, but for some pleople, like me, the game ends because of a bad connection (Thank you AT&T) and that shouldn’t result in a ban. I think it should be a personal loss if you quit, like you don’t get as many credits as you would if you had stayed. Like the “game comeplete” category at the end of a match shouldn’t be givento players who didn’t comeplete the game. I don’t know if that is already the case because i dont ever choose to quit. There probably won’t be even a punishment for quitting anymore due to the fact that you can join games in progress now.

Yeah but im saying my bad internet connection makes my games eend, and just think its unfair. I hpoe you’re right.

I don’t think losing credits would work. They could justify it by saying that you earn more from a good game than you lose from quitting a bad one. I think the 10 minute ban is the best punishment because they have to find something else to do for the 10 minutes. Personally, I think it should be a bit longer. Maybe every time they quit the same day as they get a 10 minute ban, it increases by an extra 5 minutes?

I’m, and a lot of others, are hoping that there’ll be playlists that don’t have all of the new features. Especially join in progress…

We don’t even know the plan with all the new features coming to Halo 4. They might cancel some and some might be explained in greater detail at E3. We’ll just have to wait and find out.

there is no guarantee that that will happen but it is possible

One should not be punished for quitting; rather, one should be discouraged from quitting in the first place.

Short term ban after 3-5 quits in a row, and a small credit loss with every quit.

why not ban them for an entire day?
If i get banned for 10 minutes no problem ill go to the bathroom maybe get something to eat and BAM my ten minutes is over and i can go back to playing. Not much of a punishment IMO

Yes it should. Even if you have a bad connection every single time you press “Start Matchmaking” you are entering a world in which you are responsible for everything you say/do. If you lag out or the game ends because of said lag, then it is your responsibility to either fix it or just straight up deal with it.

It’s unfortunate I know, and in this day and age most people can’t afford the fancy stuff, but at the end of the day, what’s right is right I’m afraid.

Yeah but when i play reach, the game ends 5 or six times a day, and i just play for like 2 hours.

I see what you’re saying, but there is nothing i can do about it. My internet and phone are bundled with AT&T.(which sucks)

Of course, first you must define what’s right.

I notice that when some people discuss the “Quit Ban” all they really care about is their own personal experience. I think it’s time for some people to open their eyes and see that everything does not revolve around them. Consider how it feels for someone who gets banned because of “Lag”. It’s not very fun for select person. There honestly shouldn’t be any “Ban” put in place. After all it’s a game.

Maybe instead of “punishing” players for quitting select games, what about rewarding people for completing games?

reach already rewards players who do not quit by giving them more credits in the slot machine but that doesn’t fully solve the problem

That and mark up the quit as a lost. So at least those who do quit have it against them and those with lag expect that much anyway instead of a pointless ban. No matter how many people you ban they still had to quit x amount of times which means they left u a man down for x amount of games…and some people don’t even get banned for leaving your match so you are still a man down and its not like they care because they already left. To be honest I believe a ban doesn’t help anyone. It just hurts those who stay because anyone who wants/has to quit or lags out of the game aren’t the ones stuck with the “aftermath.”
