at this point in halo smurfing and boosting has become a serious issue. Now it seems that i face off against more smurfs and boosters than main accounts. This is the reason the csr system is broken. Is there someone to punish people who do this?
Sadly no. Besides reporting them there is no way to punish them

I actually like Smurfs had I never faced Smurfs when I was first starting the game I would have never gotten better I myself don’t have a smurf but I guess they’re there for getting the newbs ready to play the big kids

but its not my imagination right? there are a ton of smurfs and boosters.
It is impossible to punish smurfs, however, I never find them that bad. I myself have an alt that I play on (more often than my main), and I use it for warming up and playing against people of my own skill. There are very few smurfs that cause a huge problem alone tbh.
I don’t really see how you can punish them to be honest, but you can help prevent a lot if it think by making it so you have to be x level before you can play ranked. Maybe that’s 10 or 25 or something. Most people make new accounts for ranked play, so maybe something like this should be implemented.

Wait what do you report them for? Like when you’re filing the report what do you choose?

I think that that makes it unfriendly to newcomers. Some people want to jump straight into the action but if you had to be a certain level to play ranked, like say, League of Legends, you can’t exactly do that. It also punishes honest players like myself that play exactly the same on an alt to play people closer to my skill level. Say it were level 5, like the gift packs, I’d be fine with it because most people play social and warzone up until that point.

I don’t report unless they are being toxic (messages belittling and stuff like that).
And the occasional ones if I get heated but with those I’ll report for unsportsmanship behavior. And comment something along the lines fake account to play against lower skilled players and etc.
i don’t usually fight smurfs unless I play hwc so I don’t encounter them too often but I can easily see how frustrating it can get.

I don’t see how that method is unfriendly at all. The game is saying " learn how to play, get a feel for things before going into ranked" lots of games do it now. Overwatch for example does and it’s been received very well there.
I’m confused by your statement that it punishes honest player… how? If you play on the same account, you have nothing to worry about. If your making a second account and playing on it, then your just contributing to the problem.
Level 5 is too easy to get too, it wouldn’t deter people from making a new account at all. The idea behind this system is to make it long enough, so players don’t want to bother doing it, but not so long where it’s frustrating to the player.
I for one HATED the fact that I couldn’t play ranked off the bat in a game…but over time I have changed my mind on it and now welcome it. Games that don’t have “must be x level to play ranked” like Halo 5, I see/play against people who are on new accounts all the time now and it’s beyond frustrating.
This feature might be a small annoyance for some and I understand that. I’m not saying it’s a perfect solution, but it does help deter second accounts I feel.
