Punishing people that QUIT

People that quit out of games need to be punished in some way .

The JIP system was made to help with the quitting problem IT WILL NOT FIX IT
If there’s no punishment quitting is only going to get much worse

For people that quit a lot
-Lose xp

-can’t start a new game until the 1 they quit out of is over

-MM time out

Not sure what else to put …

Also I don’t want 23 Black screens a game and just as many host switches

Whatever the consequences are for quitting in MW3 will probably carry over to H4.

i’m sure this has been addressed

I agree with on the black screens. Very annoying.

And yes, something has to be done about quiting. However, you have to keep in mind that people sometimes lag out of the game. Its not always a troll or a rage quiter. If we could when someone quits and when someone lags out, we could punish the quiters, not the people who lag out.

Well, in order to punish people for quitting, they’ve got to design a betrayal booting system first; not some joke of a messed up system like in Reach.

How about a 5minute timer in till they can re join a game.

Its just one of those things that’s going to happen. But we DO need to of course resolve the problem of rage quitters.

I like the idea of only being able to join when the previous game is over, but that may take some difficult coding. Well at least we don’t have de-rankers anymore.

i dont like it because

a - if the game is laggy i will quit

b - if my whole team quits and im getting farmed i will quit.

I think that this is a great idea

Maybe the penalty for quitting would be losing all XP, medals, challenges, etc. you gained or earned in the match you left. If the playlist has some kind of rank in it, frequent quitting will make you derank.

working true skill shall help aleviate the problem.

punnishment though, the best way to go about it is to remove XP by the amount they would have earned if they had stayed, other systems just cause people to quit the game entirely.

Your suggestions on stopping the quitting seems to follow the idea of:
“We’ve tried beating the quitters pretty damn hard with sticks in Reach and it’s not working… I know, lets use a mace instead.”

You’re right, JIP won’t stop quitters. Neither will your proposed “fixes”. What JIP does is alliviate the problem you have of taking on 8vs1, you being the 8, in BTB and other gametypes where the JIP will be offered.

JIP is likely not in the next hardcore/Arena playlist.

343i has already stated that we can JIP or wait for a full game by using the settings in the MM lobby.

I’ll take a loss of XP for quitting. No -Yoinking!- quit ban in Halo 4. The system was flawed in Reach.

I agree, quitting needs to be highly discouraged. Join in progress will help a bit, but there still should be some sort of penalty.

Then u should be punished

And yet with JIP, b is nearly non-existent. Considering you didn’t even address b as an acceptable reason for quitting, doing both sides a favour in the process, I would say you’re venting some Reach.

As for a, going through the constant black screens in a single game due to network manipulators is usually why players begin to drop in such circumstantial scenarios.

Gaining 0XP and medals while allowing another player to take their spot benefits all greatly in all but the most hardcore-competitive lists where it’s more about clans and teams facing off than randoms playing.

There needs to be some form of punishment. Not just a loss or no exp

People that quit that often probably don’t care about their rank or XP, anyway. Your proposed punishments won’t really change anything.

I say that when you’re in a vehicle and you get killed by someone on your team that is not in a vehicle you should get the option to boot. People betraying for the Scorpion then rushing the enemy base only to get destroyed seconds later are uber annoying. Same thing applies to when you’re holding a power weapon and not enemies are around.

I agree that we need a harsher punishment for quitters, I really don’t care if there’s join-in-progress or not.

If you quit you should be ejected out of your seat AND FLUNG INTO THE SUN
