I there should be a game mode where it is only melee but no weapons (hammer sword) and you just smack each other (it could be called smack down) This is probably a really dumb idea but as someone who has more kills with the butt of a AR the with the barrel of it I think it could be fun. Also just so it is out there Dino blasters needs to stay

Ok, this I’d awesome. This would be cool, and I wanted to do this with the assassinations game mode but it didn’t work. Also, I love Dino Blasters. Never played it, but saw it in a LTN video and it totally cracked me up.

Ugh Dino Blasters is the game that annoys me the most…
Halo 3’s Team Fiesta does have a game (I think it’s called “Punchdown”?) similar to your idea where the map has no weapons and everybody starts with a bottomless plasma pistol, ideally you zap an enemy’s shield with an overcharge then finish off with a melee (hence the name), though it will always turn into a silly mess in no time. Every round finishes really fast and gives you quite the laugh. So I think your idea should be fairly easy to make, just replace the plasma pistols with swords and hammers (maybe even empty ones for the extra drama!) and voila. In fact now that you mention this I’m surprised they haven’t made this a thing yet.
Funny enough, I created a game mode similar to this back in the OG H2 days. My friends and I called it “Knockout on Lockout”. Basically you have no shields, there are no weapons on the map, and everyone spawns only with the plasma pistol. The H2 animation for the plasma pistol melee was a punch, and without shields every punch translated into a kill.
The custom game mode required everyone to operate on the honor system though. Technically, you still could shoot the plasma pistol, but it just wasn’t as fun as running around having a massive “Bloodsport”-style boxing tournament. Maybe creating a game mode where there’s no ammo whatsoever could fix that.

One issue with this is that most if not all of the games require you to equip a weapon in order to do melee damage. Its easiest to see in Reach I think if you try to assassinate someone but dont spawn with a weapon, nothing occurs and you dont melee them.
the same is likely true of the other games
If there was a way for players to melee without needing a weapon, I would play the hell out of this idea. Though it may be possible to replicate it with an empty energy sword if it’s possible to start with an empty energy sword (don’t think it’s possible, but I could be wrong).
343 ignore team slayer, make this the infinite multiplayer reveal. If I can’t just smack everyone in infinite I don’t want it. We must make this mode a reality.
