Pulse Grenades, Only 1?

So we all know these things yoinking suck. they dont do crap for damage, and wont kill unless the enemy has no shields. takes 2-3 grenades to destroy a vehicle if said vehicle doesnt move. but you know what? im a commendation -Yoink!- and 343 decided to make pulse grenades (and plasma pistols for that matter) have commendations. so i mastered the frag and plasma, and switched to pulse… yet, you only get 1 of these useless things. what the hell? why do you spawn with less grenades, for (by far) the worst of the 3 grenades? 343, allow us to at least have 2 pulse grenades!

That’s what I’m saying lol. yesterday I was playing some team slayer and noticed that I kept spawning with one pulse grenade I thought it was a glitch.

It doesn’t make sense that you spawn with one, but you can hold two. And they really aren’t powerful enough to only have one.

Have one plasma grenade and two pulse grenades. Best idea in my opinion.

You can use grenaider to start with 2.

If you are grinding the commendation, it’s not much of a sacrifice.

I’d reccomend saving that one till KOTH comes back.

I know, it doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense. I use Grenadier so I can have two, and I still don’t get sh** out of them. If I get one kill with a Pulse Grenade evert few games, I call it a miracle.

Try using Explosives too. It really helps! I’ve gotten six kills with them in one game before.

If you’re going for kills, try using them when you’ve already knocked someone’s shields out. Unlike other grenades, pulse explode instantly, so it’s very hard not to get the kill if you aimed close enough to them. If you’re using it for the shield drain right off the bat, don’t expect too many kills with it.

It’s weird to me too that you only get one. They’re useful in specific situations, but by no means do they overpower either of the other ones to the point where you shouldn’t get as many.

Use grenader and explosive with them. You get 2 and they are stronger you’ll f*** -Yoink- up with them.

I get the feeling that they were afraid we’d have a repeat of Halo 3 where players thought the new grenades (especially the fire one) were OP. Hopefully they’ll bring it up to two due to the feedback.

I wish there were 2 of them for Spartan Ops.

I can understand Matchmaking but in Spartan Ops, there’s a shortage of them.

I don’t recall anyone thinking Firebombs were overpowered. They weren’t even in matchmaking because too many of them on screen could cause frame drops. Spike Grenades functioned like Plasma Grenades without a large blast radius.

Also a serious flaw with pulse gernades is
didnt they say that they could emp vehicles?
because they dont and i thought they were made to destroy vehicles
so i do not understand why they cant emp vehicles

I think 343 thought they would be stronger. Or its possible that when you use the explosives mod you get better “explosions” from the pulse grenades. Any way you go, the pulse grenades need a bit of a buff and a bump from one to two in matchmaking. Hopefully 343 will improve them.

I use them in a couple loadouts, pretty good against unshielded opponents but the burst at the end rarely catches anyone who pays attention, and that’s the “strong” part of it, I also remember before launch hearing they would have an effect similar to EMP but I guess that would have been too much on the vehicles, try to board tanks with em for easy kills or EMP/flip an enemy hog and throw it in there for an occasional double kill,

It’s kind of the opposite of the other nades, better as a finisher then a lead, unless your using it to limit thier movement, which doesn’t help the commendation

We all understand how they work. We also understand that no one who isn’t completely stupid will just stand around long enough for the actual dangerous part to do anything.

Thats my fav grenade.I wish the field was a lil bigger.But I use them mostly to kite/trap things…with the occasional throw at vehicles.I also use them to protect.

I was confused by this thread… They are very powerful! Especially if you know where a jetpacker or some one coming up a lift will land! This nade is so OP! It makes me lol at how powerful it is. Other nades take longer to activate, this thing pops up practically in an instant, weakening shields for easy kills.
