Pulse Grenade Usefulness and Advice

Please help me get the most out of pulse grenades in multiplayer and campaign/Spartan Ops.

Regarding Campaign/Spartan Ops:

I always play campaign/Spartan Ops on Legendary difficulty, and find it difficult to do anything useful with pulse grenades: they only knock knights back, and the AI always avoid them.

Also, when I try use pulse grenades as area-denial weapons, the charging elites and nights just blaze through the ionization fields without trouble.

Regarding Multiplayer:

Everyone knows better than to stand in the obvious orange bubble of death.

Pulse grenades do minimal damage against vehicles and cannot be ricocheted off surfaces.

I feel that these grenades are useless in every mode in Halo 4 (please prove me wrong).

I think they’re pretty useless too. In MP however, area-denial is the only time I was able to make them useful and it wasn’t even to score kills but just to delay enemies while a reload/recharge my shields.

As stated, area-denial is the main use which I found. Helpful against charging enemies with close quarters weapons.

They are good for blocking doors form players, like mentioned above me. There not that great just thrown unless you hit them face on and have the grenade open up in their face. They are useful in king of the hill and dominion.
