how can i get more pulse grenad kills? I’m going for promethean mastery but i cannot get grenade kills. So any tips?
Its almost impossible, only a complete idiot would get killed by one. So play with dumb people.
as far as I can tell they are pretty useless, unless there is some trick to using them I havent figured out they dont really kill much at all.

EMP a full enemy warthog and chuck some pulse grenades at it. That might work 
There IS a risky method that I did a few times and helped me get some pulse grenade kills. (Though 90% of them involved me dying, but I have a horrible k/d and don’t really care about it, so eh.)
As long as the shield of the enemy spartan’s down, there’s a almost certain chance to kill them off. Headfirst conflict worked for me most of the times. Either that, or steal kills from near dead enemies. So basically melee then toss grenade, like how you stick before you die. Kill from the grave, so more or less 2 birds and one dead stone.
People get tunnel vision and chase hardcore in this game. Some times when people chase you they’ll run straight through it. So use them defensively
Spam with AR or knock shields down with Plasma Pistol and throw it at their head!
Wait for people to camp in a corner that they can’t escape without being killed and end up sitting in that spot hoping to survive the grenade… Good luck.
with the proper throwing and timing you can strip someones shields, but thats about it. I heard that the grenade assists count as kills, but i doubt it. Coming from an avid pulse grenade user ive gotten maybe like 10-20 actual grenade kills off the top of my head and i have like 3 days play time. So you picked a great mountain to climb my friend
I have one, and only kill with the Pulse.
I just chucked that sucker at a one shot on Adrift moving to red hall way to man cannon entrance. I threw the grenade and while he did not evaporate into orange leaves/atom bits, he was so low on health the damage from the pulse (before it explodes) killed the player. Got me a Hail Mary for my troubles too.
My advice is that if you go with Pulse, you can’t expect to get kills with them very often, if at all. I certainly don’t but they do help get you kills. What you do is throw them to block off routes or a more common tactic is to throw them at players before you engage them. They don’t bounce, so at closer ranges you can use that to your advantage and have half your opponents shield stripped! Land a few shots for an easy kill. The Pulse Grenades radius is pretty damn good, so unless you throw it wrong, you’re going to have a weakened opponent. When thrown at me, i am intimidated by them tbh.
You just have to learn how to use them and the fact that you only spawn with one ;/ Two with Grenadier mod.
They do the most damage upon expanding into the sphere, and when they disappear/explode. While the sphere is going though, the damage is so miniscule that you can just walk through it nearly unphased. Best chance is to go into KoTH with the enhanced grenades upgrade and throw them at people with no/low shields. Should detonate on contact and hopefully get some kills.
Seems to me that the pulse grenade is unlike the Frag and Plasma grenade where it goes off and has an explosive kill radius, where as what I’ve noticed with the Pulse is that it’s immediate effect is to drain anyone’s shielding within the orange glow area.
Once the Pulse grenade does detonate it usually kills anything within the vicinity just like a Promethean weapon by disintegrating them. The only downside is that it’s very noticable and easy to avoid if you have time.
Personally I like to throw them down for cover when I’m running away from a conflict I’m not sure I’ll win, if you get it just right the Pulse grenade will drain pretty well most of their shield.
Then the enemy walks around the corner or through the Pulse grenade and it drain’s most of his shield.
Ex. Pulse grenade thrown down, guy walks around the corner ready to fire but by the time he get’s a clear shot his shields have been drained and it’s a 1 shot kill for you.
Bit of a learning curve with the Forerunner weapons I’m finding out, I also found it strange how you’re given; 2 Frag Grenades, 2 Plasma Grenades yet only 1 Pulse Grenade.
Overall I’d have to say I’m really starting to like the Pulse Grenade over the other’s, however for the other Promethean weapons I’m still more fond of my Battle Rifle / Designated Marksman Rifle.
Throw them behind people as they back up into cover, and you already took their shields down?
great tips guys, i found throwing them in coridors then pushing the bakc by charging them with the suppresor works brilliantly 
just got 4 in one game !
I have three kills w/ these abominations and it was on one game of Doubles Pro. However one of the acheivements in the majestic map pack is to get a double kill or higher with a single pulse grenade. WTF 343?!?!?
You remember BXR from Halo 2? Well you can almost replicate it in H4, as the Pulse Grenades explode on impact. Melee and immediately throw a PG at the ground and it will kill them. Too bad they’re pointless in every other situation, otherwise I would use them myself.

Play Regicide. Use the perk that lets you start with one extra grenade and use the Plasma Pistol. Fire burst of Plasma Pistol and when you see their shields drop, throw a pulse grenade at their feet. I was averaging 10-14 kills a match, I even won some regicide matches this method! It should take you a day. Not that hard
Its a hard and difficult challenge but all you have to do is get the guy’s shields down then throw the grenade in the direction they are going. It will take some time but you will master it in no time compared to just randomly throwing and hoping for the best. You will also need the perk that makes explosions bigger because you are going to die alot so the resupply perk is useless. Hope this helps. Their is a VERY easy method to get kills with it but very little knows this. Ok so the way i do it is (Choose either extraction or dominion to do this method)wait for a enemy to come then when he does and starts extracting or capturing a base throw it directly below him, this should work i tried it and it did. It will take a long time since you need to get 365 kills to finish the commendation. Those of you who think you found this helpful message me.
