Yes, at close range the projectiles move too slow to hit the opponent. Yes, at long range the tracking stops. So it may seem like it’s useless, but it isn’t. It’s actually really good. There’s a certain sweet spot to it that if the person who has it learns it and is able to consistently position him/herself, the weapon shreds. It’s not like a BR where it’s applicable at all ranges.
Couldn’t agree more. I love using it with a BR or sidekick as a backup.
tbh I would rather have gotten the plasma rifle back
Nah, it’s pretty useless. The effective range is so tiny and tracking so weak, missing just one burst means certain doom. The AR and BR can easily melt it. It needs a serious revamping before I’ll ever use it.
I for one am somewhat pleased by how well it blends the feel of the plasma carbine and repeater.
Top tier tactics.
More versatile than walking around with a charged plasma pistol.
If it requires such a small sweet spot, I’ll stick with any other gun. It’s hard to keep an enemy at a certain distance, especially since moving forward is quicker than moving back, and I believe it’s the same amount of shots as a BR. And with a BR, I’m missing shots with the pulse carbine that I could easily hit with the BR. The tracking actually makes it harder to hit player as you have to aim at the player to have the bullets track and not in front of them as they’re moving. I’d rather have any other iteration of the plasma rifle/repeater etc. I think this will become more of a campaign weapon than a multiplayer one.
It takes out shields in half the shots it does with the BR, allowing you to then swap to another precision weapon to finish the target.
Think of it like a more discrete plasma pistol.
That’s if you can hit them XD And by descrete do you mean not a glowing green orb? I’d still take that over multiple bright blue shots. If you were to compare TTK with plasma pistol and pulse carbine with a BR backup, I’d rather take the plasma pistol. I just think either the sweet spot needs extending, the zoom in tracks better, faster plasma, change from burst to full auto, or just better tracking in general. Just one of these would be great for the gun.
The thing eviscerates shields, buy for whatever reason it seems like after the shield is gone the tracking becomes really, really bad. Could just be a psychological thing on my part. Followup with a BR or sidekick and that thing is crazy.
