Pugging Not Fun

Ever join a game with 4-5 other pugs and end up getting pitted against a clan/coordinated team? Do you enjoy having the enemy team destroy you as your team struggles to get any kind of coordination going on at all?

I found this happens very often. Its this very reason why I am beginning to avoid game modes where its 4 vs 4, 5 vs 5, and 6 vs 6 such as capture the flag, oddball, and Dominion. Where a bunch of friends can join as one full team and take total control of the game.

Now I am not saying friends should not be able to play together. I just suggest restricting things on game modes like the ones I mentioned.

For Clans who wish to play together create game modes such as Team Oddball, Team Capture The Flag and so on.

What this means is that its game modes where actual teams go to play and not just some random assortment of pugs.

Normal variants of Oddball, Capture the flag and so on is where the pugs go to play. Pure pug vs pug groups. Coordinated clans not allowed.

Besides most pro clans would support this idea. Being pitted against other teams and actually providing your team a challenge. Course I wager few others would not like this idea because they prefer to remain on easy street decimating every pug group they’re pitted against.

To spice things up, new medals and armors can be created that can be unlocked by playing team modes. Providing some unique benefits and rewards to the clans who play and succeed.

Feel free to post your thoughts.

Wholehartedly agree with you OP.

Infinity Challenge has a few good teams and a few brilliant teams also.

Guess thats whay I play Regicide.

You realize that you basically just laid out ranked and social playlists, right? I mean this was basically the mentality behind that decision; let the competitive players have their playground and let the others have theirs.

Bummer man I’m sorry you don’t have friends. Hahahahahaha

This isn’t WoW, we call them ‘randoms’ over in these waters.

In my case it tends to be the opposite; I play in randoms and get faced against a team/clan/social group and they generally end up failing. Sure they co-ordinate a bit and can be tough in certain situations. But as I said they tend to end up in small groups all bunched up, meaning nade fiesta time.

Is it cheap? I dont really care. But lobbing nades in to choke points where they are clustering and using the scavenger perk to get more nades works pretty well. That or just getting a nice drop and having at them. Personally I always like to get a SAW on the smaller maps, it really freaks people out when someone de-cloakes and takes out 2 or 3 guys in rapid succession. They end up respawning and all running at the same bit. And then its 'nade fiesta time again

Dont get me wrong though, there are plenty of good teams out there. And I have plenty of really horrible games where my team just reeks fail from the get go.
