Who can I talk to about publishing my own Halo Book?
You would need to be hired by 343 Industries to write a book for them in the Halo Universe to legally publish a book using their IP.
If it’s fan fiction you can just publish it online for free.
Really only hired? Wow now things are much harder. I guess I’ll figure something then.
You could do self publishing through Amazon… but yeah you will run into some copyright, trademark, etc issues with 343 and Microsoft if you are publishing intellectual property without their consent. Fan fiction isn’t an issue, but anything more and a team of lawyers could be sending you cease and desist letters within a few hours lol. I’d love to get a link to that story when you’re finished though! I drink in Halo media like a frat boy doing a keg stand.
Thanks for the feed back. I’m still hitting a brick wall with all this. I want 343 to get the credit for all their work. I’ll keep trying. There has to be a way to do this right.
i know star trek publisher pocket books require writers to have a literary agent. it might be a similar guideline?

As a writer myself, I’ve been in situations like this many times. You shouldn’t have any problems publishing spin-offs or fan-made works with your own characters and stories. However if you’re copying and/or using main characters, places, and other things from the Halo franchise in your works you’ll need permission from 343 Industries before you can publish anything.
