"Public" Beta is needed

I really think this is Needed… I don’t know why 343i did a private beta to people and celebritys who don’t know anything about gaming or halo.

If 343i can make this happen this will be a perfect opportunity to see what’s fits the style of Halo and what doesn’t. Look what happened to halo 4. Please give reason on why Beta isn’t needed?

A beta is definitely needed.

Well seeing how they’re implementing dedicated servers into the series I can’t see them not having a beta since there’s no way they could properly stress test the servers with an in studio/closed beta.

Halo 4 is their beta. But a online Halo 5 beta wouldn’t be bad.

There needs to be a beta for sure. No way around it!

All we need is a multiplayer demo and a campaign demo that comes out about 3 months before and is only available for two weeks. If they need to prolong the realease date then so be it.

A public beta is needed. They did it with Reach so I see no reason at all why there shouldn’t be a Halo Xbox One/Halo 5 beta. We should be able to give our opinions on the game and point out imbalances/bugs instead of furiously -Yoinking!- at them after the game releases.

Keep asking all you want, it’s NOT gonna happen.

Please tell me what they fixed with Reach? NOTHING from the point of the BETA to the release, if anything It got worse. The majority hated the idea of bloom in a Halo game, that only took 12-14 MONTHs after the BETA to implement.

They also have to reason to release a BETA because it’s played more as a demo by most. Sorry, if I waited almost 4 months to buy Reach on the cheap from Craigslist ($15) I would do the same thing if Halo 5 played just as bad. They’d lose money more than gain from a BETA.

If the game is good, word will spreed, it’s it’s bad BEFORE launch less will buy it.

It would be idiotic not to have an open beta. Not only would it improve the game, but it probably would boost sales of the game. You could use the beta for unlimited marketing potential. It gets the game known and out there.

Or it can just as easily shoot yourself in the foot as people use a beta in the same way they might use a demo, choosing instead to NOT buy the game based on what they played which is “Halo 5” but in the worst possible presentation (online -Yoinks!-). Plus it’s a HUGE investment from the standpoint of a developer (it takes a lot of time and manpower) and it can only promise to help test out the technical aspects of the game and provide feedback for small balance tweaks. You can get the latter from more focused testing, developer insight, and from community feedback after you’ve shipped and if you’re satisfied with the former then there’s really no point in having a public beta.

Finally someone else with reason.

The best testing they are going to get is the players they invite to test their early Alpha builds.

Sorry after h4 , the new Halo is Bad in my mind till proven Good, so yes a Beta (short , 2 wks to 3 just showing off some of their ideas and some of what the play would be like) would be good

343 Already said the average 2-4 week beta can delay a release of a game by 4-6 months. That doesn’t take into account any changes, that’s just redirecting money and human resources.

BETA or not, I am not buying Halo 5 on release day anyways, waiting for feedback.
