PSA: You Can Set Ranked to Solo/Duo

It turns off cross-input matchmaking, but you can que into solo/duo parties only on ranked.

Thought you might want to know!

As an fyi to do it, you go into ranked and change the “Ranked Que” to “Solo/Duo” instead of “Open”.

The Solo/Duos playlist in H5 was one of the most balanced for non-party players. It may alleviate some pain for some of you

But you’re still at a disadvantage if you’re playing on the Xbox One Xbox One s or Xbox One x. I’m not 100% sure but what I’ve been reading the original Xbox One is all running at 30 frames per second you can still face PC kids that are playing on controller that are running at 120 frames per second. If I’m not mistaken the original Xbox is 30 frames per second Xbox series s and x at 60 if somebody can correct me on that. You’re still at a disadvantage playing against PC kids playing with a controller in that settings.

Yep! Played last night with my friend. We were happy we could queue on PC into other PC players. We understand the benefits of crossplay, but cross-input competitive matchmaking in our opinion does not work.

Only thing we found out which we would like changed is being able to rejoin a ranked match if you have a disconnect for any reason. Does not make sense to restart your game and have to sit out the rest of the match while your team is at a disadvantage. Hope that fix that soon.

There’s never been join in progress (JIP) in ranked, but being able to reconnect into a game you got disconnected from would be pretty cool if it was within a certain time limit!

My guy/gal, this is not a hardware disadvantage discussion. This is a party matching disadvantage discussion.

I was just letting you know that there’s still a disadvantage even though you pointed out a basic feature that’s on the menu When selecting the game type. Just like there’s different rank that you can get for solo Duo and open keyboard and controller. Each one of those settings has a different rank. Should probably put that in there that if you play solo Duo and you’ve already played your placement matches in open you have to start over on your placement matches in solo/Duo

I have a series X, I’m not at a disadvantage . No need to write with condescending structure good sir. (Go away)

I dont know how forums work but I will bump this thread so people can see
I didnt know that you can do that, its defaulted to open

Thanks for the bump! Definitely a good thing to know for anyone who’s spent most of their time in BTB so far.

I have to say the playlist is pretty fun so far too!

Reading stuff online made it sound like the playlists ate pretty bare bones (they are tbh, but still really good), so I’m happy this one ended up making the cut!

if you’re playing on 8 year old console hardware, then yea you’re disadvantaged, what did you expect?
xbox one x is 60, series s is 60 series x is 60/120

PC is unlimited, but your average gaming PC is gtx 1060 level, so struggling to even get 60.

I wonder if the ranking is a little borked, but I had a ton of fun in this mode last night!

I won 8/10 placement games, topped my team almost every game, the two losses were really close, and the 8 wins were all pretty heavy wins (no Steaktaculars though). I only got platinum 3…

(I spent almost all of H5 in diamond…)

That’s totally what I thought. I didn’t even have to hear the XB1 was going to be 30fps, I expected it. So I wasn’t surprised at all lol

Diamond that explains it :man_shrugging:t3:
