People have a right to be pissed content is not available to them at time of release. We paid for it and on top of that is was falsely advertised that LE owners would get early access to these maps. What a joke.

Those people would’ve paid with MS points. Gears of War 3 had the exact same issue that was going on right now for the Raam’s Shadow DLC, which was resolved in a few hours.
Again, read the OP for an explanation and be patient. You’re one of many people in the same boat so your frustration is understandable.

Nope.
LE gave you early access to specializations.
Map Pass only promised all 3 map packs for an up-front, slightly discounted price.

Gears 3 had the exact same thing their first map pack release with their season pass. Heck, that one wasn’t resolved until mid-afternoon (Mountain Standard Time in the US).

Remember, the US isn’t the centre of the universe. The map packs were advertised to be released on December 10. In some countries, Australia for example, it’s only a few hours away from being December 11. I would like to download the maps and have a quick look at them before I go to bed otherwise it’ll be around 20 hours before I get home from work tomorrow and actually get to play on them.
When you add this on top of the fact that I paid extra for the limited edition which advertised the season pass, early access to all specialisations as well as a few other things and then they gave the specialisations to every person who played the game within the first two weeks of release, which lets face it, will probably be aroung 80 - 90% of all people who ever play the game since the most copies are sold very early on.

While I NORMALLY am inclined to agree with you, MS and 343i are based in America(run off of PST, too, if I’m not mistaken), and therefore he has a point. 3AM over on 343i’s doorsteps, and they don’t open 'til 9, as normal businesses would assume.
Be calm, and relax. Patience is a virtue you shall learn. 343i’s trying to give you a valuable lesson today.

It might not be, however it’s MS’s base of operations. It might suck that places that are 10-15 hours ahead of EST(13-18 for PST) won’t see it til the 11th their time, it’s not MS’s fault. They advertised it based on THEIR relativity. Until we are all under one unified timezone, no one will be happy.
According to another thread, passes should be working in about another 2-3 hours. Hopefully that’s the case.

The post right above yours. However, MS is notorious for being wrong in these situations; they said the Gears DLC would be out at a certain time, and it wasn’t for another few hours after they predicted.
At any rate, I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Surely you’d do everything in your power to prioritise the fans that were dedicated enough to say, this game’s great I want to play this for the forseeable future, here’s my money?
Instead it seems there’s a priority for those that haven’t parted with cash? Regardless of whether this is ‘343’s fault’ or not, the maps shouldn’t have been bought online until the correct systems were put in place.
It’s like me pre-ordering a game, paying in full, then not getting it until people that haven’t preordered it buy their copy…
I guess you guys never used a pass on Live before then?
Here’s how it works:
Data is added to server
Game is updated to reflect this
Item is added to Marketplace
Authorisation server for passes is updated with link to data
Server authenticates passes, send “tokens” to systems with valid passes
Systems receive token, begin download
Note, if you buy off XBL instead of via a pass, only those first 3 steps matter; passes have to wait to be authorised and issued the token for download.
