Those of you with the Standalone and LE Map Passes have obviously noticed you cannot currently access the maps for free download, or receive any prompt to do so.
The cause:
The prompt should (and will) come from accessing the Xbox Live Marketplace menu in the main menu. However this menu has not yet been updated to include a wide range of H4 dlc, the map pack and standalone pass included. It currently only lists gamer pictures, some themes and avatar items. Until said point in time when 343 or MS can update this menu, we’re out of luck.
You may also notice that going into War Games and choosing the Crimson Map Pack playlist prompts you to open an XBL Marketplace window. You’ll notice all H4 DLC is available in this menu, but unfortunately this menu either hasn’t or wasn’t set to search for Season Pass downloads, as that has always been handled through the games’ native XBL Marketplace menu, and not the actual Marketplace from the Dashboard, where this menu is being pulled from.
So, being patient for now is all you can really do. The issue should be resolved soon.
As a note: DO NOT pay another 800 points to get the maps, as you’re simply wasting your points and/or money.
I don’t have anything like that either, but I’m sure there’s a good enough reason, it is there first DLC for halo 4, the thing, is I just haven’t heard what that reason is yet.

Whether or not the majority is awake doesn’t make a difference. I really don’t think it takes an army of people to put an update up on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
Anyway, give it some time to appear in the in-game Xbox Live Marketplace.

Anyway, it’s irritating that the maps are up, yet anyone with the pass can’t access them yet. This is an issue purely because MS/343 didn’t take the steps to at least schedule when the content would show up in the XBL Marketplace menu in H4’s main menu. Hell, there’s like 7 items in that list, opposed to when you go to war games, then go to the Crimson Map Pack playlist where you have the option of bringing up a marketplace menu and everything is there.
Why have one devoid menu and one that works fine yet isn’t the one responsible for handling the SP detection? It’s just poor foresight for what was obviously an anticipated launch.

Grow up kid, you act like this game is made for Americans only because no one else in the rest of the world plays it, we all payed good money for this game and should get the maps straight away without fail.
this is just another glitch to add to the rest of them.

every other game out there seems to not have this issue when releasing map packs
What’s going on? I have the season pass, bought it separately. I see the crimson DLC playlist in wargames and it’s says i do not have the required DLC. Do you want to go to the xbox live marketplace? uhhh…i guess so. I get there and it says “if you have the halo 4 season pass, do not buy the map pack here or you’ll be charged twice, buy it from the game” and the only option in the game to buy it is through marketplace, of course. And redownloading the season pass didn’t help either.
