PSA PC players: RTSS causes significant FPS drops

Hi everyone, like many others I have been enjoying the Halo Infinite flight. I use Afterburner and RTSS for monitoring in my games and have noticed pretty bad stuttering and performance from the Halo Infinite flight. I keep up with the RTSS development thread over on Guru3d and have seen the creator mention that there is some incompatibility right now with RTSS and Halo Infinite due to custom D3D libraries.
Before disabling RTSS in Infinite my framerate was around 60-70 at 1440p with my 3080. After disabling RTSS my FPS shot up to about 110-120, all settings maxed. I can see this through the in game FPS counter that is available in one of the menus.
To disable monitoring for Halo Infinite (its not enough to just turn off the OSD):

  • Open RTSS - Add Halo infinite’s executable ( for most folks that will be like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MGS Test App 6\HaloInfinite.exe) - Set Application Detection Level to 'None’That’s it!
The developer is fairly sure this wont be an issue at launch but I thought I’d spread the word. He suggests that the issue can currently be resolved by adding the .exe and clicking ‘Custom Direct3d support’ from off to on, but this makes my game crash once the injection is started. Hope this helps some folks.

That’s my post there. Sadly I registered for beta just today so I have no access to it and cannot verify it myself on my side.

HOLY -Yoink- THANK YOU. Moment I did this I jumped 40 frames.
