A recent video from Mint Blitz covered the details about a very problematic bug on Recharge. The TL;DR is that if you crouch on on top of the pistons while they are lowered, it will make you nigh invincible.
I’m posting this here so the awareness gains traction and 343 can get to fixing it as soon as possible.

Was I just doing this wrong or is he the only one who’s gotten this to work to the effectiveness he shows? I mean the first few hits on my shields are dampened but other than that it’s a consistently normal drain.

They’re gonna do it, but I wouldn’t really consider that a bad thing. Since the more it gets noticed, the more it gets reported and the higher priority it becomes for 343. Not gonna do it myself though. Recharge is my favorite map and I’m not gonna waste my time crouching on a piston lol
But are you dying? Mint seems to be taking damage in the video, but he’s not dying when he should. I haven’t had time to test this out for myself yet though.
They should still be able to be displaced from the glitch either by a repulse or with a sticky… Of course thats still massively inconvenient and 343 should hotfix or yank recharge from the competitive q until its fixed.
Appears that it only makes you invulnerable for a short amount of time but you can reset it but jumping off and clambering back on. For koth it’s basically a free cap of someone is doing it on the 5th ring
I “tested” this yesterday. It seems that sometimes I took damage and sometimes I didn’t. It may have been dependent on where I was getting shot from. There were also times when I would rubberband off the piston but then when I would try to move it would put me back on top.
I’m not really sure what is going on but there were definitely times that I was getting shot and not taking any damage.
I still die. The first few bullets feel dampened a little bit but from there the pace is as it should be.
Hmm… It could be very specific like you have to stand dead center of the piston or something?

I did not play on Recharge once Saturday or Yesterday, so im assuming they pulled it from the playlist for now.
it was pulled from ranked I think, but social still has it.
