PSA for AMD HD 7970/R9 290/390/R9 Fury GPU users

Posting this for posterity, but AMD dropped support for those GPUs right before the Infinite driver optimization driver was released, but the good news is that someone makes modded drivers with the latest optimizations added, I’ve been testing it myself and it makes the beta fully playable on my R9 Fury Nitro at 720p. The drivers are called the Nimez Radeon drivers ([Driver Mod] Amernime Zone Modded Radeon 21.12.1 WHQL + GCN & Legacy Pack (Released) | guru3D Forums).
I am fully aware that these GPUs are considered below the cutoff of support by 343i, but they are more than powerful enough for a 720p Infinite experience and these drivers are the only way I know of to enable this experience.
I’ll leave some search engine tags below so people can find this thread if they need help.

I get an error stating that the driver version might have been reset.
In general it’s pretty hard to figure out what to install. I don’t think I got better fps as it’s different on each map.

yeah you have to download DDU and run it first to clear your driver, then get the GCN (if you have an R9 GPU) driver, along with the dependency file, lemme know if you want me to walk you through it.

What resolution? Did you make sure to turn Async compute on? It helps with fps.
