okay i really like this armor but it will take so long to get… you need the weapon commendation weapon mastery! i can get every weapon mastered eventually besides the plasma pistol how in the world are you supposed to master that??? i never use it and i have yet to get a single kill with it in my entire halo 4 career yet alone probably less then 10 kills total in my whole halo career

It’s harder for me to get kills with pulse grenades than the plasma pistol.Plasma is almost expert for me and pulse I only have 3 kills.

King of the hill gametype could help. As the enemy is scrambling, light 'em up with the plasma pistol.
I think Plasma Pistol will be the toughest. Pulse Grenades aren’t so bad… lower an enemy’s shields and then toss one in - if your aim is true, they will die instantly upon its initiation.
Since Protector drift is the hardest unlockable armor set ever, unlocking it will take at least a few months to master the loadout and ordinance masteries.

you don’t have to kill people with pulse grenades to lvl up in the commendation, you just have to damage them with it.
use camo and when you see an enemy on your rader chuck one in the direction hes goin for a easy kill.

figured I’d post a lil something cool as a reply. A couple weeks back I finally got my Protector DRFT armor unlocked. Took a while but it is possible once you try for it.

OT: I have both the Protector DRFT armor and the Contoured SHRD armor on along with the Mark VI helmet. (If you don’t know you can only wear the Contoured SHRD forearms after mastering Perfections)
Personally, i don’t think 343 thought the commendation through as much as they could have. I like the commnedations the reflect skilled players rather than just complete no-lifes that only play video games. I like things like:
-Combat Oportunity
-Dominion Mastery
-Multikil
-Spartan Spree
-Splatter
But most of the weapon ones are just plain silly!
Same with “Crawler Sniper”.
But i’ll let 343 off this one time seeing as it is thier first ever game 
We need armour that is hard to unlock, that is what keeps the game flowing. But when i have beutifuly awesome helmets and armour dangled infront of me that i can never have a living hope to achive that is when i get a little upset.
Things that need to be sorted out would have to be:
Commnedations:
-Weapon Masteries
-Crawler Sniper
-Perfection
-Exterminator (Make it harder)
Medals:
-Perfection (Make it obtainable in other gametypes asides slayer!!)
-Extermination (Keeps bugging out and i sometimes don’t get them)
Weapons:
-Have a dominion map with covenant ordinace!
-Buff pulse grenades somhow.
-Nerf the DMR seeing as it is currently the best all round wepon (Best accuracy, highest damage, most range, Fastest killer)
-Buff the Supressor seeing as it is the worst automatic weapon in the game.
These things don’t need to be sorted out. But i think it would make halo 4 a lot more enjoyable for players.
I completely agree. 343i should probably have tested their weapons better, given that the DMR is everyone’s go to weapon and no-one ever uses the Suppressor.
As for the weapons and commendations you mentioned I suppose I’ll dish out my thoughts on how they can be balanced one by one.
The DMR needs more recoil. The cross hair just doesn’t expand far enough and it’s too accurate for its damage (and hence its implied recoil).
The Suppressor could use a recoil buff, I would say its recoil pattern is the problem. The shots scatter far too widely and for that reason it’s useless even at medium range.
As for the Crawler Sniper commendation, I think they just need to reflect their rarity in the amount of kills needed to achieve mastery. I’m not sure what your problem was with it, but I think they’re just too rare.
Finally, the Pulse Grenade could indeed use a slight buff- I would say its duration, since it could be useful in locking down choke-points. I haven’t used it much yet, so I’m not quite sure.
I also think the Plasma Pistol should have its commendation achievable by EMP assists, etc. That’s what it’s generally used for.
Weapon commendations could be a little less tedious to unlock by allowing assists to play some role in unlocking them (e.g 2 assists= one kill). Some of the less-used/found weapons need to have their requirements lowered.
Finally, I think the concussion rifle is under-powered for an ordnance drop. It needs a slight buff, but maybe I’m just using it wrong. I tend to spam it as accurately as possible but rarely get kills.
There’s my opinion, maybe someone from 343i will see it and appreciate the advice.
Anyway, as per the original thread’s purpose, I’d love to attain this armor but I think even at the pace I’m going it’s just not going to happen. It’s too bad since I want to emulate a tiger pattern as close as I can.
TBH, Protector DRFT maybe quite cool looking, but I fell comfortable with my present armor and i plan to keep it that way. Also, its true, it does take a lot of work and time to get it.

The carbine could also do with a little buff
Just play Fiesta. Then use power boost for any of the weapons that you need. I’m currently doing that for the Storm Rifle.
