As much as I like the Arbiter I don’t think he’ll have that big a roll in Halo 5. I hope he does, but so far it seems more of a Chief vs Locke deal.

Master Chief. He has always been the main character of the main saga, and this time it will not be different. Blue team is there just for support, like Thel in Halo 3.

As 343 have made clear, Master Chief won’t be dying and Locke + Fireteam Osiris only serve to contextualize the Chief’s adventure and explore it from outside perspective. Chief is very much the main character of the Halo games. A major part of the Reclaimer Saga is developing his character and watching him regain his humanity.

I don’t know about you guys, but I feel like the arbiter has a way more important role than we’re thinking.

  • He already got 2 mega block sets announced: One with MC and one with MC & Locke.
  • Like half of the campaign Plays on his home planet
  • MCC introduced the new Players to his character (especially through the terminals)
  • He was in Halo: Escalations
  • He was in that Blur cutscene with Locke, in the new e3 Trailer and in the e3 Trailer for the MCC last year

This is all past halo 4 stuff, so it’s prob relevant for Halo 5. He might even be playable as a surprise (either he has his own missions or someone dies and he replaces him or you might be able to choose from 5 different characters for some missions).

All in all, it seems like his role is very likeable, because he knows Lockes side of the Story, but also sees MC as a friend and might even end up on his side (There’s a mega block set for Halo 5 with him and MC on a warthog)
