We had one type very specific type in Reach, I’d like to see them again in the future.
Rather than just having one type of arm that is unlocked with chests, why not make them their own thing? We could choose different designs, and we could put them on both arms and both legs. They should also be affected by armor colours.
Also, a possible addition to the future of Halo even in canon, maybe we could have added limbs. For example a specifically purposed extra arm coming out over the shoulder. Kind of like this: http://www.tentonhammer.com/image/view/77454/preview
Thoughts??

I really wish they kept this but it’s gold and I doubt they’ll waste their time on the amory(?) for dlc
Probably won’t make it in.
I think the prosthetics in Reach were only created out of necessity. The Campaign Spartans (except for Jorge) all seem to work like normal Spartans, using the same armor system. So for Kat to have a prosthetic arm, they had to make a prosthetic armor permutation. They probably only made it playable as an afterthought.

It was a good decision to put an idea like it in to the game at all. It will be sad if there are no prosthetics in Halo 4, but for the future it should definitely come back.
I would love to see how different parts could look, also they would have a more sufficient design considering its been 5 years since Reach fell. Imagine a piece with armored plates around it, it might try to mimic how muscles shape the arm, and I would love to see a prosthetic leg, it would need to be tougher to take the massive weight of just the spartan and still work. Also, spartans don’t need to be the only ones with prosthetics, anyone could have them, I’d like to see more random characters in the universe with prosthetics, and hell, maybe even some Covenant prosthetics, imagine an Elite with a Covenant style mechanical arm.

David is pretty much on the money.
Also it must be kept in mind that we’re to believe that multiplayer is almost an ultra realistic hologram taking place on a ship, of sorts. There’s no reason for there to be prosthetics in a simulation. Even those with such injuries who might have them in “real life” would have no reason to have them in a simulation.

The problem with that logic is that Spartan Ops uses the same character as in multiplayer, so I doubt they’d just not have prosthetics in for that reason.

It still has a behavioral effect on a sub-conscious level, pretty much everything does(I think).
It may not effect gameplay, but in canon, wouldn’t people need to consider things like that? The real arm and the fake arm probably don’t have the same durability.
Also, isn’t Spartan Ops canon? On top of everything, its another cool customization option.
Another cool thing would be to have attachments on prosthetics.
I liked the idea of having prosthetics. Added to the character of your, well, character.
I didn’t like that they were tied to chest pieces. In fact, when we were shown the full armor customization list deal I thought for sure they’d be under their own category.
Anyway, I stated this before in a thread, I’d like to see attachments in general return. With much more variety of course. Instead of the same 3 attachments for every armor piece. It was very unique and I enjoyed the concept.

I’d like to see attachments specially made for certain pieces.
Also, what happened to the knife? We still have it in Reach, but does anyone know where on the body it is? We should be able to get different knives, and put it in a variety of places. A machete would be great on the back of the waist, horizontally mounted. Hell, maybe we could even get a katana again.
I hope they didn’t make the mistake in shipping all armour with the disc which is only unlockable via progression or codes. I hope they kept it open so new additions can be added in future e.g. “Armoury DLC packs”
Would have loved the Arbiter armour added to Reach.

Hated that about Reach. Armor DLC would be awesome.

you know if all four limbs had a prosthetic option we’d have a bunch of limbless bob oblongs in a spartan suit running around in multiplayer.
that being said I thought it was interesting in reach to have a character without a limb since spartans go through a lot, but I don’t know about that thin robot arm design. I mean, if its that thin, why not just get it to work inside the regular suits they manufacture. it could fit
Yeah, I think more prosthetic options would be cool.
Or what if you had a full cybernetic skin!
You would still have your armor on, but instead of the Spartan’s body filing it in, you’d have prosthetic filling them in!!

You mean a robot? Like a terminator?
OR! IMAGINE THIS! we can pretend we have robot arms! only we put our armor plating on over top of it! seriously though I never got why we had to SEE the prosthetic arm, any smart spartan would put their armor plating back on over the prosthetic arm because keeping it exposed would be a weakness and disadvantage for the spartan. seeing as a prosthetic arm would have many fragile components for it to work properly and could very easily be broken if shot in a joint or one of those small parts.

This guy gets it. And the only reason they had it in Reach was for players to be able to pretend being other members of noble team.
