Pros
-
Music - first thing that stuck as soon as I booted up. Wow. Best music since Halo 2/3. Modernized but true to Halo. More of this please! - Graphics - although not the most important when it comes to gameplay, it has vastly improved and it helps with the immersion. Love the look of Bazaar esthetically. Guns looks much more complex and deep with the improved lighting and textures. - Map Design - all around really fun with lots of options of playing high or low. Grapple shot is really great for getting around the maps and utilizing the different levels. - Equipment - Digging the new equipment. Fun addition to the sandbox to keep evolving the game. Nothing will ever top the OG days from CE-Halo 3 but I understand modernizing the sandbox. - Bots - I’m impressed with the AI of the bots and how they are not just pawn pieces that can really easily be taken out (at ODST and Spartan difficulty). They use the map fairly well and use combo of grenades and shooting in a manner similar to live player competition. - Gun Range - neat addition I didn’t think I would care for but a great way to familiarize oneself with the weapons in a quick manner. Maybe do a flight school for air vehicles?
Cons/Improvements -
Menu UI and Battlepass UI - can use some more tweaking. Or I just need more time to familiarize myself. Can’t quite put my finger on how to improve it… but it feels clunky/confusing (especially in the battlepass/store menu) might just be me though. - Blood - can we make this a toggle option? I wanna see the red mist make contact with walls and terrain. Halo 2 blood was pretty damn near close to perfection. - Particle effects - grenade explosions and bullet impacts fall a little flat and could use some beefing up. Might be different in campaign vs multiplayer? But would nice to see more beefed up impacts and remnants post explosion/post bullet fire with the environment. - Motion tracker - enemy should show up when walking and not just while sprinting. When crouched they should not appear as per usual. - Time to Kill - shields should be stronger and more resistant. Doesn’t feel like I even have shields sometimes and I am just wearing regular armor. - Shields - can’t tell when an enemy has lost all their shields and is a headshot away from death. Really easy to tell with examples from Halo 2/3 (you can tell I love the OG trilogy).Really digging the flight so far! Discuss below and tell me why you agree or disagree with my takes! Can’t wait for the next flight.
