Pros Complaining About Skill Gap in a Game That Aims For You is Hilarious

My question about steam needing the Xbox live account or not was because I never believed that halo can overwrite the Xbox multiplayer console setting regarding multiplayer settings. You all now the story that no matter what you set in the settings regarding multiplayer behavior the cross-play settings is not enforced because halo cheats. I was just curious about thtaat since it made no sense.

My assuming that All PC players use KnM I do not assume that based on the fact that they play from Pc. Is more about empirical observation about movement patterns and the buffering of input

You’re assuming facts again. Why should we believe that ?
Halotracker’s numbers are saying ~18k of bronze/gold/silver and ~40k of plat/diam/onyx.
I know that there is not all the players. But doest it mean they’re all noobs ? Impossible. It must follow the same belly curve simply because CSR belly curve and MMR belly curve are very related.

‘I believe’ is stating an observation. Empirical, personal experience. Argumente true but still not mathematically proven. So it’s not about believing without questioning.

Halotracker can’t be used at all to discern how population is dispersed in to tiers. Especially since this season reset. But most players will fall on the normal distribution in silver/gold/platinum and not in bronze or onyx or diamond.

And I argumente while the current aim assist with tracking is necessary. So the population (casuals as in the majority, not noobs and not pros) is given a chance to compete.

At casual level when one only plays a limited amount of time KnM is superior and this tracking aim assist only is useful for compensating the fact that on controller the fi ger you are used to aim is also used for changing weapons, reloading, crouching and the combination of movement and those. A player using KnM has an entire hand not just a finger dedicated to aiming whitout any stoppers. I’m not talking that aiming is or not easier with a mouse in contrast to a controller, I’m only saying why this type of aim assist exist and why it must remain. It still is not perfect ( no vertical aim helping, it deactivates if you desire to correct the aim and if you do not strafe and you charge forward only it does not activate)

As for how halotracker tracks I have no clue. And I ASSUME that the data is obsolete anyway. The people that stopped playing are mainly casuals and not try hards. It was confirmed that all version of halo use Xbox accounts. So if we look at the achievements less than 25% played campaign and what is surprisingly including winter mini battle pass less than 3% finished a battle pass.

Simply this type of gameplay is no longer popular and it’s probably considered to sweating.

And the “try hards” are using controller, not KBM.

Spoken like a true PC Keyboard and Mouse player. One of the biggest mistakes Microsoft made putting Halo back in the hands of the device that literally has the most Hackers and problems. Halo has been amazing without the need of PC players going on about controller players. When we all know the facts that it’s much harder aiming with a controller then it is KBM players so why bring up stupid conversations for no reason because your simply bored with your life. Its quite funny  :joy: if you ask me.

I’ve been playing FPS games on a controller for over 25 years.

@FireGOKU24 funny how no one ever responds when I tell them I’m a controller player lmao

Considering the BR got nerfed wouldn’t the skill gap increase?

I can’t imagine there’s too many KBM players out there. Halo is built for controller.

good thing Halos Aim assist dosnt aim for you then

This game has one of the weirdest aiming systems in any game I’ve ever played and because of that is probably the hardest shooter I’ve ever played. The only gun that feels consistent aiming wise every game is the AR. If 343 tries to making aiming even harder for controller players you mine as well just shutdown the servers cause no one will be playing if the aiming gets any harder.

I found these videos by Critical Infinite really helpful in understanding H:I’s aim assist:

I never said for aiming to get harder. I said, pros shouldn’t complain about the skill gap in a game that aims for you.

I agree with you completely on this. Why do the pros get gifted a ranked playlist but the regular competitor community of Halo doesn’t? This launch of Infinite still bothers me to this day.

I think aiming in Halo should rely more on the player and not so much the game.

And how exactly does this game aim for you? Because it has aim assist which every single console shooter has?

It has a drastic amount of aim assist, and considering console/PC performance continue to improve, so does the performance of a controller. You don’t even need to move the right thumbstick in strafe battles in this game lmao!

The combination of weird aim assist and movement that lacks inertia/weight make aiming feel poor on both inputs.

This is exactly how the game aims for you…

And no, not every console shooter has aim assist. You should download PUBG on Xbox and give that a try.

then go and play pubg.

To be honest I just don’t care enough about it. Which is why I’ve been ignoring it all this time. I don’t care about pros or if you like Aim Assist or not. As long as I’m having fun playing Halo in custom games I don’t really care what helps me or not.
I say custom games only because I stopped playing Matchmaking because 343 turned the game to getting kills is the most important thing over just winning the game. Matchmaking for any game should only be about winning the game and not how you win.
