Pros and Cons of Halo4 MM

Guys seriously calm down. Clearly most of you “competitive players” are outraged by the news. But clearly you are only focussin on what affects you, instead of looking at this from a rational point of view.

NOTE: Pros and cons can be found for some of the following as everyone has a different viewpoint.

As much as I didn’t want to create this thread it seems necessary, so this is to discuss the pros and cons of the future of halo based on the recent information and information to come.

PROS: Multiplayer will take place on the Infinity and used as a spartan training center, which explains some of thenew additions.

The AA’s returning are Jetpack, Hologram, Active Camo, and the NEW Forerunner vision. We do not know how any of these will work nor if they will differ from in Halo Reach.

There is MORE news to come, we do not know about any of the new vehicles (yes including th warthog and how it will play)nor have we seen any Halo gameplay videos to prove that Halo 4 will still feel like Halo.

There will be balance. If everyone respawns almost immediately after death then it will prevent camping on large maps as I played on a BTB map just yesterday in Reach.

THERE WILL BE A CLASSIC MODE. Do not give up on the multiplayer experience just yet, there will be a classic mode for us competitive players. How “classic” this aspect of multiplayer will remain is unknown, but surely it will remove features such as loadouts, AA’s, and insta-respawn.

There are no elites, saddening but there is a legitimate reason as to why. We are no longer fighting a Covenant-human war so we are not on Earth where elites may roam. We are on the Infinity, an eite proof ONLY spartan training program. The new enemy are the forerunners and their leader at the moment and hopefully a warrior class of Forerunners will be playable in Halo 5 to replace elites.

Machinimas will prosper. Just the sound of the Forerunner Vision AA immediately caught my attention to the machinimas that sprouted from Halo ever so long ago.

Forge is yet to be announced and it may give some game play changing options when making custom games to remove some features.

Assasinations are still in and the new ones will make machinimas more interesting and giving you even more joy from killing someone from behind than in Reach.

CONS Remembrance Note Some of the pros may have cons to them as do most video games

No Elites, will affect macinimas and limit players to expressing themselves between the Spartan and elite classes.

Weapons will randomly spawn. This effects knowledge of a map layout and can affect a winning team who has thought to keep control of the map. This may make the game more competitive or more frustrating to play.

Insta-Resawns. Opposing teams will have an easier time to regroup or even avenge themselves while you are reloading or trying to escape, and make a continuous loop of carnage based on whether a player spawns in the same spot, or a place of their choosing as in COD.

Spartan Points: These will allow people with an edge in matchmaking or probably even in Spartan Ops to be ahead of players when the points are used to buy gameplay changing armor and weapons. We don’t know yet how these will affect gameplay fully but they can go a few ways, they may be unbalanced and need to be scrapped, or it can be flawed and gamers will find a way to use this to their advantage via boosting, hacking, etc.

The Ranking system isn’t known yet. Given the fact that we are spartans in trainning we may not even have a ranking system or it will be closely related to events not only in matchmaking but in Spartan Ops as well.


Please feel free to discuss any pros or cons that you feel will come from the new additions, but I feel this thread is needed to allow people to think more rationally instead ofoutrageously.
