Pros and Cons of Halo 5

I said I would post this list when I got around to it, so here it is;

PROS

  • Even starts
  • Weapons are well balanced
  • Abilities are well balanced
  • Gameplay in general
  • Spartan Chatter (surprisingly works well, just hope it’s toggleable for Custom Games)

CONS

  • It’s a team only game now, lone wolfing gets you killed
  • The matching system for games is really sh*t (I can get paired up with people who have negative K/D’s on my side whereas the other team has 3 semi pros)
  • CSR is based off of your win/loss record for games, rather than individual skill and K/D
  • NO ELITES

The biggest thing for me is Elites and the matchin system. I;m sure the matching system is gonna be fixed, but I’m SO worried about Elites. As a machinima director who got screwed over because they’re weren’t Elites in the last Halo title, I’m serious when I say that playable Elites will be what makes/breaks this game for me. It’d be an idiotic move on 343’s part to not include Elites, but they’ve made terrible decisions before.

That’s what I’ve found wrong so far. I’m not gonna complain about things that can’t be changed; no matter how much people whine, 343 isn’t going to listen to stuff like, “get rid of ground pound” or “no more sprint”. Despite what they’ve said about listening to the community, those are here to stay, but I can’t complain, they’re fun.

All your cons seem like pros to me…

Halo has never ever been about K/D. Its been about winning or losing. You get the teammates you get. Next time search with a group!

Even of you’re outnumbered say, 4 - 2, you still drop in ranking. And since the ranking is called Competetive SKILL ranking, I figured it’d be about SKILL, though it’s hard to pull that off when you’re playing against people much better than you are. I’d much rather play against people who are on my level rather than high above me.

If youre skillful, youre more likely to win. Therefore youre more likely to go up in time. Also if youre consistently playing people better than you, you will be knocked down in rank to people more on your level.

but in all fairness im just going off halo 2 and 3s ranking, i havent gotten a chance to try the beta out yet. I was going to get an xbone for halo 5, but after seeing the gameplay im having some second thoughts, its quite an investment!

That’s probably why you don’t get what I’m saying. The game’s fun, it truly is. But being better is exactly the point. Instead of being paired against people who are weaker or better than I am, I’d rather be paired against someone who’s equal to me. If I begin to improve, then I’m always equal, but I can still go up in rank.

See what I mean yet?

Team shooting encourages team play, in turn gets you wins. When you are playing players of higher rank you are going to have a hard time being a lone wolf either way. Making your rank based on win/loss what it was in halo 2 and 3. And the team play of those games made the community of halo as good as it used to be.

The one thing that i think that has to be implementedis the seperation of skilled players and players that are more new to the game. Makes the game less enjoyable for everyone
