Proposal: Free DLC Weekends!

Apologize if the title is misleading, its late, im tired.

Anyways… With Live, every once in a while Live offers free gold access to silver members as a trial type deal. Would be cool if 343 was able to design the game to allow a similar system where gold members, could have the DLC maps added to the respected playlists over the predefined weekend(s) set by 343. Once the weekend was over they would again be unplayable unless you purchased them.

Mechanics:
At DLC release, all players have a mandatory update that installs DLC to HD.
If DLC is purchased, maps unlock. If not purchased, maps are visible in menu, but not accessible.
Players who have not purchased the DLC and play for free over the DLC free weekend, are not eligible to unlock achievements and perhaps no stat/rank progression on DLC matches.

I like it, especially if DLC armors will return (obviously exclusive to buyers).

The problem I see with this is after playing it people may have no incentive to buy it. I remember when the first map pack came out, and we were able to access the playlist without buying it. It gave me time with the maps and I decided I didn’t want it. There’s no doubt it would make some people want to buy it, but I think the latter is more a bit more seldom. (Although a part of me wants it because it reminds me of the 2x weekends ;D). We need more events in-game other than tournaments.
