What is the difference between the two swords gameplay-wise? They both could lunge with smart link. How else do they differ?
I like the design style of the Prophet’s Bane more but they both look too bright. Thoughts?
PB Has a player speed increase, and is brighter. That’s all I know about
Too bright indeed, I can barely see the right half of my screen.
I never really liked the idea. I absolutely despised the sword/sprint combo in Reach and 4. Now it’s amplified.
Ill admit the name “Prophets Bane” is pretty badass. Doesn’t look to shabby either.
The difference is that the Prophets’ Bane has a larger lunge, and gives you a speed boost. And it’s the only power weapon on Truth, making the PB a good weapon to have.
So, both of them could lunge, are very bright, and a 1-hit kill. The only difference is the speed boost with Prophet’s Bane? I don’t really see the point of having two swords gameplay-wise then. Unless if the energy sword had some sort of mechanic to differentiate it between the Prophet’s Bane. Like being able to melee faster or something.

what is more interesting to me is the idea that some maps will have a unique power weapon specific to that map. there are some other posts discussing this topic with some really good ideas. Here is one of them:

The PB is just a special weapon for Truth.

That was the point. They made the PB more-powerful than the ES so they had to give it a negative so they made it really bright so you can see a super fast super-soldier sprinting at you at full speed before he completely recks you.
I liked them both but the prophets bane is really nice

It’s going to be Arbiter’s sword, but barring a complete retcon, it’s not the same sword from 3.

Yes it is, it’s just been modified by a craftsman under orders from Thel. He wanted it to look distinctive.

Because it isn’t possible that the sword might have been reforged or something. Right? /s
I loved the sword but I agree it was very bright and made it hard to see.
Well, other than the speed boost from the PB sword.
My guess is that the sword will be present during the campaign so if 343I doesn’t include it in the multiplayer, fans would rage at them for “killing Halo” (We all know how this community is)
I actually like the idea of “legendary” weapons.
