So I was happy with the plasma turret as a level one req. I hadn’t used one in forever, so I decided to pull one out. What the actual -Yoink!- this thing is -Yoink-. It’s worse than a level 1 req. My suggestion is buff it to a longer range storm rifle and make it a level 2/3 req. Anyone else feel the same?
Yikes. Yeah that looks pretty miserable even for a level 1 req. It should be more powerful than the storm rifle since it’s a freakin turret after all, but that looks like it’s tickling the enemy Spartan when it should be killing him.
It’s a pretty pitiful weapon. It’s the accuracy (or lack thereof) that really kills it. At least it’s not as bad as the assault rifle seen in the Marathon Trilogy, where the original manuals describes it as “akin to wrestling a greased pig”. In other words, it’s terrible!
One the other hand, you can pick up a free Plasma Turret in Firefight whenever a Phantom explodes at the end of a round.
Most weapons are pitiful when it comes to warzone.

Buffing it would make people care, the reason why no one cares about it is because its so bad, its a simple fix.
They should just take it out of the game.

No they shouldn’t. It’s been in Halo since Halo 2 along with the machine gun turret. So yeah it needs a buff.

eh yea obviously, what I’m saying is that we have so many weapons in h5 wz that it’s really not needed to buff it…who cares
I’ve been saying this for ages!!! It needs a tighter reticle and faster projectiles to make it worth something, throughout the halo games the plasma turret has struggled to be effective in the pvp and I personally think it’s the slow projectile speed combined with the reduced mobility screwing users over. It needs some love.
They should make the plasma bolts faster and more damaging.
What used to make the plasma turret worth using back in H3 over a regular turret, was that it never over heated. You had less damage and accuracy, but could fire off the whole battery workout releasing the trigger. Adding over heating removed the one positive this turret had ever had.

Yeah but Elites get damage and accuracy buffs that players don’t have access to (permanent damage buffs, not damage boosts).
A fine example of artificial difficulty, might I add.
If anything, it needs to use less charge for the amount of damage each plasma burst causes.
They could at least add a couple of different levels of them. Like, follow the pattern of the plasma rifles. A level 2 turret would have faster, more accurate projectiles, like the level 2 plasma rifle. The level 3 turret could then have the explosive bolts that the level 3 pr has.
I think it was meant to be a support kind of weapon where you’re only meant to get assists with it. I mean look at the plasma rifle or the storm rifle both don’t do well against an opponent other than taking their shields down.

Storm Rifle does pretty well I’ve found?
Plasma Rifle is best finished with a Melee though.

Yeah, the storm rifle is the better of he three, it can at least compete with the AR.
