Halo: Encyclopedia states otherwise and so does Mendicant Bias in the last Terminal in Halo 3. They are still alive, but probably not the enemy.
He said those within 3 radii of the galactic center died. Anyone outside the blast zone, such as anyone on the Ark, lived. The Encyclopedia confirms that the Forerunner who survived the detonation left the area and their whereabouts are unknown.
The Halo Array was originally supposed to be able to hit the entire galaxy. But when Mendicant Bias went rampant, he destroyed 5 of the 12 Halo Rings. So a lot of “Ancient” speices living on the outer parts of the galaxy could have lived. But I don’t think it will be the Forerunners themselves… yet. But who knows? We still have a year till it comes out.

Seven rings are more than enough to kill all life in the whole galaxy. The only safe area was outside the galaxy, at least more than 50,000 LY from galactic center.
I certainly couldn’t imagine Forerunners as enemies. If they’re alive, they will most likely be on your side.
> Halo: Encyclopedia states otherwise and so does Mendicant Bias in the last Terminal in Halo 3. They are still alive, but probably not the enemy.
The Halo Encyclopedia was a crash-and-burn project, it has massive contradictions both with itself and with books/games released before AND after it was. And the last Terminal doesn’t in any way state the Forerunner are still alive.
Yes, and in Halo 3 Guilty Spark also highlights that he knows bugger all when it comes to anything not Installation 04.

He doesn’t know anything about other installations specifically. Not necessarily knowing nothing about anything but 04. He knows plenty about Forerunner history.
I highly know they let the Monitors know they had built things like shield worlds and that. If so, the Gravemind would have known if it had infected one of them and broke every possible survival plan of the Forerunners.

Not really, if you ever read Halo cryptum they are quite the the evil bunch. Lets just say that most likely they would want to kill us or hurt us in some way.

“And so here at the end of my life, I do once again betray a former master. The path ahead is fraught with peril. But I will do all I can to keep it stable - keep you safe. I’m not so foolish to think this will absolve me of my sins. One life hardly balances billions. But I would have my masters know that I have changed. And you shall be my example.”
Gee, show my masters that I have changed. You will be my example. Gee, I wonder who he could be talking about. Seriously, what is so hard to understand about that?

I guess that’s why they made us Reclaimers in the end…

I dont understand why they did make john a Reclaimer. In the book they were pretty mean to humans.
We still have two more Forerunner books, we will get a reason. And every human is a Reclaimer, not just John.

Medicant Bias saying “I will send you to my masters” is not proof enough for you?
And new canon overwrites old canon, btw.

sorry wasnt thinking i forgot about every human is a reclaimer and cant wait wait for the next books.

Um, there’s a very big difference between supporting an argument and proving it.
Support simply makes your case more reasonable by making less opposing cases. As in, the forerunner are probably not the next villain because according to a Halo 2 cutscene they’re all dead. Proof would come if you could eliminate opposing possibilities with something that definitively demonstrated your case, as in showing us the final version of the Halo 4 campaign.
The fat guy that eats a mc donalds every day, he too is a reclaimer…
Buzzkill!

Worse, Justin Beiber is a reclaimer.
if ya’ll want know what happened to the forerunners just go watch “Halo Legends”. It perfectly explains what happened to the forerunners.

Yeah, some of them lived as shown by the one Forerunner putting their armor away.
