Proof that rockets are far too weak

I shoot the rocket at the floor in front of me and don’t die.

That is because they reduced player-self damage and player-teammate damage.

Literally discovered that my first match of the Insider period of the game. You can blow up your enemies just fine, but trying to rocket yourself or your teammates will just break shields at most. Which is kind of OP since now you can just jump into a group, blow up your feet, and score an EZ double or triple-kill while just breaking your own shields.

Or if a Sword Spartan is coming at you, just blow up your feet while they are lunging for you. They die and you live.

Te splash damage and area of effect damage are to :

1. Weak
2. Selective / Random
3. Don’t seem to register when hitting targets.

Halo Reach, 4 and 5 Really had the best AOE Damage directly and indirectly when it came to rockets.
Halo Infinite’s rockets are basically grenades that need to be stuck to kill targets, not to mention they don’t even do any sort of real damage to vehicles compared to past Halo titles.

I’ve gotten kills I shouldn’t have because I stayed alive during a rocket that should’ve killed me. It gives players far to much wiggle room to shoot the rocket how they want.

While I agree that the SPNKr got the shaft as a power weapon, standing a solid 6 feet away from an explosion isn’t the greatest way to showcase its lack of efficacy.

If you’re going to show the lack of strength, you should’ve paired it with video at roughly the same distance in other Halo titles.

No but seriously, the damage you apply to yourself and to teammates is reduced when compared to damage to your enemies.

It is likely done to reduce the chances of griefing of players on your own team and to reduce the chances of random deaths.
You launched a rocket and your teammate grappled in the way, blasting that thing in your face? No biggie, you’re still alive and you didn’t earn a Betrayal medal.

The needler is more of a power weapon than the SPNKR.

The needler is off the rails in this game. The only one that’s better is the Halo 4 variant that actually was a power weapon.

That’s true but we all know how past Halo rockets work. It’s pretty obvious that I should’ve died there

I think the needler is in a good place. Not too strong but definitely viable

The needler now kills people in 12 needles.
Which is staggering given its fire-rate and auto-lock.

My friend loves it. He always want to 1v1 while he uses the needler while I use the pistol. The tracking is pretty strong

Have you ever heard the phrase, “explain it to me like I’m 5”?

Sometimes it’s better to include comparisons to make your point clearer, than it is just to assume everyone is thinking what you’re thinking.

I dunno about that, try it in Halo’s CE-5 just to be sure.

Halo Infinite’s Rocket Launcher is definitely off I keep having to firing more than once on 1 player because apparently 1 Rocket Under the Legs wasn’t enough to kill them

Alright. Noted. Will do a comparison next time

You should of.

In the situation of fighting an enemy in close quarters and you were shoot the ground to kill, yourself and the enemy ; The enemy would of walked away from the fight where you wouldn’t have.

Halo Infinite is just broken and unbalanced is so many ways.

*Im excluding lag and desync, along with anything that can attribute to anyone trying to defend Infinite. In past Halo games, regardless of who shot first, you can gamble and win the gun or melee fight. In Infinite, its almost like the game hits you with random cool downs, nerfing your weapons so you don’t get a kill. *
The amount of times I’ve should of gotten a kill by unloading a rocket, sniper, assault rifle or any other weapon just for the enemy to turn around and kill me is off the charts.

It might also be lag issues.

I have encountered heavy lag at random where players are not where they are actually seen on screen. Sometimes players randomly teleport and I even had a match where my friends couldn’t fight me because I was teleporting around on their screens while everything was running smoothly on my end.

It was terrifying the first Tenrai week because I had a match where three of the four enemies were teleporting around and I only got like five kills that match, all of which on that one guy who moved normally.

Perhaps this happens on a lesser extent where players are just a couple feet away from where the explosion happens, so the game doesn’t really register full damage as it should?

You can destroy the wasp with the needler, where the rocket / SPNKR or Hydra takes the whole mag to bring down.

The only weapons that are power weapons are the sword, hammer, side arm, assault rifle, sentinel beam, and everything else, fusion coils can 1 shot kill the wasp and drivers of the vehicles.

The skewer is considered a power weapon, but is also classified as a Sniper Rife in the game files.
I really don’t think 343 knows what there doing, they took 1000 steps back from Halo 5 and MCC when it comes to gameplay and balancing weapons.

The problem is that the weapons are balanced for the campaign and not really for multiplayer.

And honestly? I am surprised that the upgraded variant weapons aren’t yet in the multiplayer. Such as the Bulldog with tighter spread and 12 shells in a magazine. Or the better Skewer that has rods that explode on impact rather than just being a crappier alternative to Halo 4’s Railgun.

EDIT -
Though there is a leak of a new Wasp being added to the game - The Stinger Wasp.
Basically it replaces the machine guns with overglorified shotguns. This makes it even more close quarters, but good luck boarding the thing that dominates close quarters. It also shreds the standard warthog. It;s alt fire is still missiles.

343 Industries will probably release the alt versions of the campaign and from Halo 5 and call it “ NEW CONTENT “

The sad part very few will complain on why it took so long or why they weren’t there for launch or fiesta and everyone else will continue to be spoon fed and accept it as if it was part of 343 Industries plan.
