That guy was just… Awful.

Therefore he got no kills, whether he spawned with a BR or an AR, he still sucked and failed miserably BUT LIKED IT! So he now has a motivation to put time into the game and get better.
Dear Lord… why is he walking around without his helmet on?

The majority of casuals would just give up after being killed twice and play CoD.
And as we all saw in that video, Armor mods and custom loadouts change almost nothing, the terrible will always be terrible and the great will always be great.
I think this proves that grenades are OP lol. They really need to Nerf them from what they were in Reach. He deserved to get that Beatdown though, that guy wasn’t aware of his surroundings, but the fact that you can get kills just by spamming grenades always pisses me off.
I saw that before, and I got to tell you: that was just not fun to watch. I do agree that Halo 4 will take a lot of skill. I know this because not everyone’ll understand the game and play very well like the video for example. It always takes skill to get kills on any game, because without any skill, we wouldn’t be able to do anything that’s tricky.
I like the top comment; “This guy had the reflexes of a -Yoink-.”
The guy with the rockets seemed to be pretty clueless. Maybe we’ll get lucky and meet them online!

he got 1 kill out of over 6 grenades thrown, also the grenade was right under his feet bro if that doesn’t kill him then they’re UBER weak!
RIGHT UNDER HIS FEET!
kills in reach were still based off skill. but relative to past halos, there was a much smaller skill gap. same with halo 4, it will be 100x skillful as CoD, but that doesn’t it can’t be only 1/2 as skillfull as halo 2. competitive players aren’t saying halo 4 has no skill gap, they are saying that (based on confirmed information) halo 4 has a smaller skill gap (to what extent is unknown).

Yeah, I was gonna say, he got one kill and he didn’t even spam. He threw one grenade and got lucky because the guy was already weak. The grenades seem fine to me. Like they’ve finally reached a happy medium between damage and blast radius.

Yes we know the confirmed information, did any armor mod save him or get him an extra kill that he doesn’t deserve?
Your reasoning is unparalleled, OP. Sarcasm.

Armor mods weren’t even in that build, but okay.

Actually no, everyone had the stability armor mod… So a guy like that, his aim would be even more terrible.

So it’s a newer build? Well that blows, I would have liked to see PV and Carbine and how they act with their respective nerfs.

and to your thread: yes we know that halo is still based off skill, but do loadouts and whatnot affect balance and gameplay in general (and not in just one specific video)? also, he was killed a few times unfairly; hologram confused him and DMRs/BRs out-ranged his AR. and sprint allowed alot of players to escape in that vid from certain situations.
I wouldn’t use a video of a player who is apparently very bad at the game as an argument for anything. Yes, the game takes skill, that’s not a surprise. Reach takes skill too, so does CoD, and so does rock-paper-scissors. The point here is, none of said games take substantial amount of skill. It’s not about bad player being or not being able to beat a good player, never has been. It was always about what happens when you match a bunch of good players.
Now, instead of asking ourselves the question: “does Halo 4 take skill?”, which has an obvious answer, we should ask: “does Halo 4 have high enough skill gap to be able to sustain proper high level gameplay?”, for which the video proved nothing to either direction. It’s certain that the skill gap has decreased with every Halo game this far. Reach hit the bottom and Halo 4 certainly isn’t going any deeper, but neither is it aiming any higher.

You’re talking about skill gap on a video where a bad player gets dominated by better players? You can’t argue that he was terrible, even with all the loadouts and advantages that were thought to be on his side, he was STILL terrible and LIKED IT! He obviously wanted to play more and get better at it… Different spawn weapons DID change stuff but the bad player has no advantage over the skilled player and the skilled player only has the skill advantage over the bad player.
