I think it’s safe to say that we’ll defenitly see Forerunners in Halo 4. Looking at the artwork from the new Greg Bear’s book, it’s the same “Dropships” we saw in the Teaser trailer. I’m very excited about probably learning more about Forerunner’s story both in th book and in the game!
Well considering the last terminal (not secret one) pretty much showed us the Didact would be returning with some Prometheans i think its safe to say we will see them.
How does the cover of Halo Primordium prove Forerunners will be in Halo 4? I know it’s a piece of H4 concept art, but the ships seen aren’t known to be Forerunner. They may be, yes, but they may be ships belonging to the new enemy in Halo 4 (which are not Forerunners).
Also, Forerunners are extinct. This has been the emphasis of the series since Halo 1. Forerunners are gone because they sacrificed themselves to wipe out the Flood. I would be severely disappointed if 343 suddenly changed this.

Why would they do artwork of Forerunners era/story (for the book) but with ships representing another civilisation? those ships have to be Forerunner. Starting with this priciple, finding the same artwork in the Trailer makes it obvious that we’ll see forerunners in H4.
In order to have the story grow and go foward, 343 need to come up with something unexpected. That’s why i believe living Forerunners will apprear in H4. There must be a Shield world somewhere that still hold Forerunner life. It’s easy to make up and it will make the story go foward.

As you can see from those three images, those are some things that either never made it to the final game, or changed a lot before release. The idea behind concept art is to generate some ideas, and get them to what the developers and story writers feel is right.
I spent some time trying to find one concept art from Halo CE that was an epic looking vehicle, but I couldn’t find it.
I wish they added the boat they could have used it for the beginning of the level The Package. You would have a awesome battle over the ocean and then crach at the outer area of the ONI base where you ussually start. Where noble six would still jump down and meet the ODST. We could have shot down banshees from a boat.

They’re not extinct. Didact and a handful of other Forerunners activated the Array on the Ark, then left the galaxy, either to try and find the source of the Flood or to try and start anew.
I think it’s pretty safe to say there will be Forerunners in Halo 4, 5, and 6. All I truly care about making an appearance in Halo 4 are Juggernauts. If there are no Juggernauts, I am not buying the game.
