Same BS Here buddy! It blows me away how messed up this is. I wonder if they actually test drive this game before 343i releases it? If so may they need to get some retraining on how to test games correctly eh?

even bots are busted. I made a custom Fiesta game w/ 5 bots on cobra and 6 for eagle, as I was the 6th for cobra. I had my 5 but eagle ended up with 3. some games wonāt load bots at all. even saved copys as well as published have reverted to default even when locked.

Custom Games are also VERY laggy.
Like when connecting online with my Aussie friends, everything is all fine and dandy.
But playing a custom-game with them and all of a sudden by buddy Bats is lagging so hard that he boarded my mongoose and began to drive awayā¦ but on my screen I hopped off and he got on, sat still for a second, and I stabbed him with my sword.

Yep, been trying to make and save some custom game modes since launch for our LAN parties. SWAT, shotty snipers etc. Nothing saves.

Itās a complicated dance of fighting the system and futzing with the save button until it finally clicks. Gave up on it after realizing that you canāt set starter equipment for some reason, despite the fact that such a system definitely exists (a la Fiesta).

Agreed, custom games in Infinite are INSULTINGLY terrible. You cannot save gametypes and cannot select your equipment. You cannot select weapon variants for customs?! Why tease us with those awesome weapons when we canāt even utilize them in custom modes? It needs a huge fix.

Right now I was trying to play a custom game with bots. Iāve set the settings to make the game play like an old-school arena fps. I begin the match, only to see that I start with the wrong weapon and other things didnāt change. I go back to the settings. Guess what? They somehow reset.

In MCC 343i literally kneecapped regular custom games. You cannot join someone elseās custom game unless you have them on your friends list. This process is hard to do for PC players and everyone worries about cluttering their friends list. This was a change made in Season 6 or 7 after it was left alone since 2014.
So thereās almost no big custom game groups. 343i literally killed them. The custom game browser is good for ping but the hosts have very little control since you have to pre-set what gets played. Thereās no progression (literally, I donāt mean XP or rewards), each room is just a fish that swims in a circle.
You want a progression for customs?
Ive got my own saved slayer mode that effectively change and save settings, will test again later.
There was a UI bug reported early on that wont DISPLAY changed settings correctly but upon launch YOUR settings will take effect.
EDIT: Yes its saved and works
Only 8 bots allowed in 1 match, it says this in the bot tab.
Why that is, I have no idea, didnāt know it was so difficult to add bots to a game

We need to be able to save āALL OF OUR GAMES SETTINGS AND CUSTOM MODE SETTINGSā on our local machines like we can in HALO MCC and stop dealing with these Damn Microsoft Azure Servers!!!

the bot AI is run on the backend of the servers as i understood it from the tech preview stuff

I agree the bots are pretty stupid! 
The Bots in Unreal Tournament are 1000% smarter! 
You can write a book of all the things broken and missing from Customs. But, you can save games, as long as you Save a Copy, then first select that copy, and edit it. The problem is once you change the game mode again or quit out of Halo, itās not editable any longer, as if itās locked. - you can though edit it from the saved copy as long as you donāt change it off that mode.
Anyway, itās functionalā¦ and FUNā¦ but just very bad.

You can put up to 8 bots on each team if you start from a BTB game mode.
Itās a really stupid way to design Customs though. You should be able to edit it freely based on the game type, not the game mode provided by 343i
