Promises Mean Nothing, 343

What? I am saying that companies (any company, even trillion dollar ones) don’t get complacent just because they’ve earned some money, 343i are going to right the ship because of money not in spite of it.

Greed is good basically. I have no idea what you read there but read it again lol.

The devs that do the work has nothing to do with the poor decisions the higher-ups make.

They can make a quality type of game and bust their a** doing it, but it’s not going to change the fact about the higher-ups that make all the calls for the game.

The way the game plays right now I’m not even sure I’ll still be playing come season 2. My wallet is a clam, and has been since the terrible launch.

I disagree. While it would be neat people would gripe about the next thing. I think developer feedback is import and more importantly the developers are interacting back. But at the same time a priority needs to be established and run through.

Anyways I hope you all continue to have fun. I know I am!

ahhh, I should have picked up on that, my bad. That’s completely reasonable.

Playing the game gives it a player base. As we all know there are people out there that just do not care about how bad the monetization is and will put out the money anyway. A lower player base will help deter the whales.

Abstaining from even playing the game is the only real way to show you’re not happy with the product. Not spending money isn’t good enough.

Based on how much time that I have spend playing the game (mainly the campaign) and this has resulted in at least 3 days of active playtime and 2 LASO completions.

On the other hand, the game is unfortunately affected by some questionable design decisions like armor customizations being split between diffferent armor cores and higly restrictive emblem/armor coloting system. But these design decisions haven’t been significant enough to affect my enjoyment of the game itself.

In conclusion, I would consider Halo Infinite to be a true delight to play and the campaign has also provided enough bang for the bucks to be worth the $60 purchase.

I’m sorry, but you guys are just plain wrong. If Microsoft sees a chance to have 1,000,000 people buy a skin for $2 instead of 50,000 buying it for $20, they’ll take that chance. It’s up to us to try and make that an option. Saying to give up because it’s pointless is so frustrating. It’s clear to me that y’all aren’t reading the whole thread, so I’ll quote some of it for you.

You’re asking me prove you wrong, then getting mad when I do and saying it’s not addressed to me. And half of the nothing I accused you of saying was in response to a logical argument against you. Instead of using logic to construct an argument against me, you just ignore me and say a lot more nothing. BTW, using your idea of your posts not being addressed to me, why are you even here? Was this post addressed to you? This is a public forum where you are putting your words out there for the world to see. Be prepared for responses, or why would you even post?

I will 100% own up to calling you a loser first. I should have said lazy. I just consider people lazy in your way to be losers. And I also find it extremely ironic that going by your logic, you’re still the one to initiate the ad hominem. See, my point was that what you were saying was irrelevant to the conversation because you refused to acquire context. In that regard, with context still tied to the argument, I called you a loser. You actually just made an implication that because I used a certain phrase, that I’m actually the loser. By your definition you were first to use ad hominem.

Just because I started mudslinging doesn’t mean you’re not the one taking the conversation literally entirely off topic. I was only pointing it out for any mods sake, to imply that I no longer wish to have an off topic conversation. You have, again, said a whole bunch of nothing here.

Literally no hypocrisy in this statement, though. You have still added nothing to the conversation and you are still begging for responses. I have asked you to read the post I took the time to write out and you have refused. Again, it’s not my fault you’re lazy.

Ok, let’s read it together

Here’s where you call me wrong while not understanding that you’re agreeing with me.

Here’s where you literally repeat my entire point using your own words.

And here again, you say something that I said in the OP, but in your own words. Then you call me wrong again.

1.) I’m not mad. Amused would be a better word.
2.) Spouting your opinions (in before “you have opinions too”) does not make for fact. It does not address the demographical facts that I put forward to another user.
3.) In regards to the post not addressed to you, you’re responding as though it was. That’s the difference. What I said that you objected to had nothing to do with anything that you have said.

Sure, buddy. I’m not counting my opinions as fact, but I have put out some well thought opinions that you’ve ignored. The thing that I said you were wrong about, and the thing that you were wrong about is that 343i doesn’t profit from our purchases. Here’s me calling you out on it.

As for that last statement, what I said is still entirely relevant. If you put something out there, I can respond. Especially if it’s not completely thought out. If I didn’t respond to you, someone might read what you said and have no counterarguments for themselves. If I can help them see any counterpoints at all, then I’m doing what I should be doing. We may have differing opinions, doesn’t mean you need to be sheltered from mine, right? It seems you really misunderstand the point of forums in the fist place.

Ok lets go back to your original post, and let me break it down.

You say right here that the only way 343i/MS will do anything is if you don’t support them with money, what I said is that the only reason they care is because it will give them money. Basically the exact opposite of your core argument.

343i/MS want you to spend money, thus they want you to keep playing, thus you spend more money and so on.

Why do you believe any game ever has an update or patch? Because of the people that didn’t spend money or the ones that did? This would be like valuing all the people that don’t shop at your store and ignoring the people that do… Just seems like bad logic to me. I mean they definitely want more (especially newer) players but I feel like that’s a bit steep compared to giving fans what they want.

People make this extremely sentimental (don’t blame them, Halo is a part of many of childhoods) but the reality is that the business itself is consumer friendly. This isn’t a paid game, where they make crap tons of money day 1 then can just pack up their stuff and ignore issues (this doesn’t happen too often, but they could in theory if they wanted to)

Infinite is a F2P game, what fans want (I don’t mean Halo 2 or 3 fans btw, I mean Infinite fans) is huge to them, not because of love or respect of whatever ideal reason, they care because monies.

You are so blatantly wrong in so many ways here that I honestly am gonna stop replying at this point because it’s quickly going to turn from a learning moment to an opportunity for you to start trolling.

Dude, I literally broke it down for you. You are saying the exact thing that I’m saying, you’re just calling me wrong and using the inverse of my point to rant over nothing.

You are if you think quoting me and then saying “nothing” equates to proving me wrong. It’s laughable, really.

Prove it.

Then i’ll buy after the fix the issue on campaign and multiplayer. Its a shame only the store worked perfectly on day one.
I’m not throwing a nickle at this game until everting is fix

You’re an actual stooge. I read your posts, and they’re a bunch of nonsense.

343/Microsoft have had analysts working on projections about what percentages buy/don’t buy, and how many will put in only 20, as opposed to dropping 100+. They can do the same simple arithmetic you’re capable of, and concluded that they’ll make more with the whale hunting model.

Also, your hypothetical is dumb, it assumes that everyone either buys or doesn’t, you imagined whales out existence because they’re antithetical to your silly “No just stop buying stuff” idea.

I’m saying a bunch of nonsense? Your entire argument is “I don’t think it’s possible, so it must not be.” I’m not ignoring whales, I’m saying that they need to become a part of this too, and that trying is always better than not trying. Giving up is what people who have more power than you want, its’ how they control you. The only one ignoring anything is you, and it’s reality.
