I, among many others, have been looking forward to the promised big team battle update (WITH REAL MAPS). Now, who knows when that update is going to come. Halo 5 is a great game, but so incomplete… Variety is needed at this point. I’m just not a huge fan of Warzone or the REQ system. Clearly the promotion of Warzone is what holds 343 back from adding BTB maps. They’d undoubtedly lose a ton of Warzone players/money to the standard, and awesome, game type that’s been in Halo forever. And before someone tries to defend Warzone saying it’s the most played game type, obviously it is when the REQ and experience system reward those players the most, which lures people to buy more REQ packs, and continues the cycle. BTB on forge maps is average, so people go to Warzone to get a better high player count experience.
I really hope 343 ditches the REQs for Halo 6. I want back a progression system where I can actually unlock things by working towards them. Random unlocks absolutely do not inspire me to play more. If anything, leave REQs for Warzone and Warzone only. Keep the cosmetics for a progressions system.
Obviously 343 isn’t paying attention to these forums or they’d make some changes to the content they release in updates. But thought I’d vent.
You know 343i never promised btb. That’s why all the btb maps are forged. As for variety, yes we as human all love more and more and more. Few are content with what they have. Others demand that what they have is less than what they have and demand for what’s missing to be restored.

Agreed. I really dislike the REQ system for unlocking everything.
And the REQ armors and helmets are a joke. Instead of nearly 200 armors and helmets we get like 40 of them.
Each armor and helmet is like 4-5 times just with different markings.
This is a joke that the armor comes with markings. We should be able to choose colors AND then if we even want markings or not.
We had way better customization in Halo 4… and in next-gen game we get like… the most basic customization.
In Halo 4 we could have chosen our own armor parts and here? Armor and markings are already chosen for us.
I love warzone and the REQ system. My main problem with Warzone is the lack of both game types and maps. While I do love the REQ system I do miss working towards armor. I think Halo 6 should have the Reach progression system in addition to the REQ system. We’d unlock armor with Cr and unlock Warzone weapons with REQs. (with a small chance of unlocking armor) Also, full armor customization is a must for Halo 6.

While Halo Reach may not be my favorite game play wise in the series, it is by and far my favorite for progression systems in Halo. As proclaimed “Halo fans,” 343 should know how great a system like Reach’s was for keeping players interested.

Actually yes, dedicated BTB maps were promised in a future update after launch. Not sure if that promise ended up being what we get from forge, but I hope not.

I would have loved for the armor and helmets to be unlocked and have another section for armor skins on their own. Then we could pick the armor we like and then apply a skin we want to them.
Even better would be that once you unlock an armor set you can take pieces, like shoulder pads or chest plate, and mix and match it with another armor that you have unlocked.
