Simple question, is anyone else sick of fighting them after one game?
I’m personally annoyed at how unfair an enemy they are, what with their -Yoink!- teleportation, shields that recharge at the snap of a finger and most of all, weapons that incinerate you in one hit yet require at least three in return to kill so much as a Standard Knight…provided he doesn’t teleport away in time.
Did I mention they teleport?
Oh, and what’s with the Watchers? I thought they were going to be a supporting unit, not a replacement for Yan’me (Drones).
It’s bad enough that we have a rogue Sangheili sect on our hands, but I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve come out of a firefight with Prometheans only to see an Elite General toting the infamous Fuel Rod Cannon, and all I could say to myself was “Oh, thank God. Something I finally understand.”
No. Prometheans are supposed to feel hard. It wouldn’t feel right if the Tier 1 race in the galaxy’s finest warriors were no better than the Covenant.
I do think they can be a little tedious though. Crawlers are too hard to headshot since they aren’t always facing you, Watchers reviving stuff is insanely frustrating on higher difficulties, and Knights don’t always become vulnerable to headshots after their shields pop.
Looks like someones upset about not having the skill to take down a powerful foe, Prometheans are Prometheans… the top tier class of Warrior Servants under the Forerunner Military… you expect them not to have powerful advantages or more efficient shields?
Stop being a troll man, all you ever do on these forums is complain about the silliest things.

How is the OP being a troll, he is just asking if anybody just doesn’t find the Prometheans to be fun enemies to fight in their debut appearance. I agree with him, they are essentially just bullet sponges like the Brutes were.

Because I don’t know you, I’m going to refrain from making false accusations against you, and since I’m not one to debate skill in a video game I won’t bother. However if you’re that insistent on basing this around game-skill, feel free to take a glance at my achievements.
I absolutely enjoyed fighting a new race of hostile in the Haloverse, but the interest level dropped greatly after engaging them for the fourth mission in a row.
Now, with that aside, if you take a look at my recent posts you would notice that they are mostly consolidated in the Role Playing portion of the forums, however more recently they have been defending the game in its play style, even taking hits by those who accuse the game of catering to CoD fans. Defending, I believe on this forum, is the complete opposite of complaining. So please, stalk me a little more before you go tossing the T word around.
The are there to make the game feel harder but really only annoy the player. They teleport a ridiculous amount of times then can 1 shot you at drop of a dime. Annoyed.
In some ways I hate them, in other ways I love them.
In S. Ops going up against them with a communicative and coordinated team is immensely rewarding. Knocking down the watchers, calling out any sniper types, and keeping track of the heavies as the 'port around makes going up against them so much smoother. Anything that encourages teamwork is a plus in my book.
Unfortunately they seem to quickly get unbalanced when any single type (watchers, crawlers or knights)grow to large numbers. They “swarm” and can overwhelm you in short order. They can spawn into the field on top of you at times with no warning. The knight teleport isn’t that bad once you learn how to ready it’s queues. You’ll know how long they’ll take, and the general direction they’ve gone in. One place where a call out matters to keep them from getting the drop on any teammates who may be in that direction.
Prometheans are tolerable compared to the speeded up, extremely cheap and often dumb, damage spongy (in health AND shielding) annoying enemies in the past.
Watchers and Crawlers have a bit more health than they ought to not to mention Crawlers have a ridiculously tiny head that’s hard to hit, but at least you can use Watcher retreat to your advantage and the Crawlers don’t always rush your position.
It also makes sense for their defensive behavior, the Flood were almost always on the offensive.

they do always become vulnerable but their entire head isn’t the one hit headshot hit box. only the orange openings that appear are

They’re okay, but at the very least we would need to see a lot more classes and possibly vehicles in Halo 5. But seeing as how Requiem went into a star, I don’t think we’ll need to worry about them again.

Regarding Watchers and Crawlers, when they appear I switch to BR - it makes them ridiculously easy to take down.
As for Knights, I find the best way is to keep moving and popping DMR shots plus always, always, always checking the motion tracker for teleporters.
Having said that, I do miss Brute berserkers - I remember the first time one went berserk, threw off its armor and bounded towards me. Man, I near crapped my pants.

It’s not like they’re Tier 1 technologically advanced beings or anything.
The tougher the better, I need some grit thrown against me when playing, where is the challenge without resistance?
Tbh the knights and crawlers aren’t that bad in my opinion one charged plasma shot and a couple of DMR shots and they are both down easy. As the watchers do get annoying sometimes I agree on that.
The one thing that really bugs me are the insta 1 hit kills from the General fuel rod Elite urgg…
