Prometheans

I am tired of hearing everyone call ‘Promethean Knights’, which are non-organic Requiem defenses, Prometheans! Prometheans are warrior-class forerunners. They ARE forerunners.

These AI defenses of Requiem are NOT Forerunners. They are simply named after the mighty warrior-servants of their creators race. So please do not call the AI defenses Prometheans as you will be incorrect in doing so.

Sorry if I sound like a jerk, this has just been bothering me. I like to call these AI defenses Knights, Watchers and Crawlers for short, instead of Prometheans.

Quick question about the promethean knights, what up with their little T-Rex arms?

am not certain, but I think those arms control the movement of the bigger arms. Just speculation though.

Completely un-related question, but what’s up with the blue ghost? Is it creative license, or does it have some sort of cannon explanation?
Thanks in advance…

Please ignore this post. My computer is a laggy -Yoink-.

Finally someone understands that they’r an AI and not forerunners.

Why would a robot need little arms to control bigger arms? That makes no sense…

I’ve been having the double post problem a lot to recently.
It’s most likely due to the websites servers and not your computer.

Yeah that sounds most likely. Stupid sucky servers :frowning:

I don’t know, I read it somewhere, but I didn’t design these things nor do I have an explanation from someone that knows.

I’m guessing the giant blade-arms are for fighting, and the T-Rex arms are for manipulating controls and stuff, sing the blade arms don’t have apposable thumbs.

Have you read Primordium yet? I don’t want to spoil anything for you. If yu have though think about the Composer. If you know about the composer I think that could be the best explanation.

Never thought about that, seems like a good explanation though.

I wouldnt say its not impossible they are promethean. In primordium we learned that 343 was originally a human. and the didact was well aware of that.

Whos to say that its not possible for some forerunners to chose to convert themselves into a machine-based race? There is so many advantages for them to do that. Like being immune to the halo effects and the flood (as we see from 343)

Now i dont mean all types of the machines we saw, but the humanoid creatures specifically. To me, there must be a deeper reason than just intimidation for the holographic face. But what if its the remnant of a former forerunner?

Being the ancient enemy is still up in the air, once the third book comes out that should be more clear. But im pretty sure the ending voice was the Didact, he could have placed his life force in a machine or he’s still his biological self…idk.

Its just a possibility, but i consider it plausible.

But I don’t call them Promethean Knights. I call them Knights.

I’m betting they’re a reference to Alien queens.

Also note how the Knight exposed his glowing skull head. Either that was for intimidation or that skull has some special powers. Perhaps the latter since I don’t see Flood being intimidated by skulls… Vaporization weaponry (and this is also their death animation) lends credence to this imo. It would be just wrong to give a Knight so few weapons. It’s clearly an apex predator.

343 is calling their faction the Prometheans. Perhaps some things have changed over the last 100,000 years.

The fact that Forerunner Warrior-Servant’s were called Promethean’s and this new faction being called Promeathean’s is irrelevant. The origin of these creature’s are clearly Forerunner and perhaps have named them self’s in homage to the greatest warrior’s known to the Forerunner Ecumene.

Yeah, I don’t get this. Literally in the demo Cortana is like “there like some sort of AI”
and people are saying its forerunner when it is obviously just their creation.
