Prometheans took a break?

This is kind of funny. I was playing a match of firefight on Urban and after about 30 seconds into round 4, the Prometheans decided to stop spawning. I kind of just made my way to the place by the garage where I wanted to be when round 5 started, and hung out there for a bit while everyone goofed around because they had nothing to do…

Thankfully it wasn’t one of those “kill Prometheans” rounds, or else we would have lost. Were they tired of teleporting in and fighting us, so they just stayed home instead? Has this happened to anyone else?

Firefight occasionally glitches like that. I’ve had several times, one on that level actually, where you have to kill I believe 4 banshee leaders or something. Well one of the banshees glitched and got stuck inside the wall and then eventually under the road. We all were on the road teabagging where we thought the Banshee was. Sucks that we lost that match because of a glitch. Consider yourself lucky that it glitched in a way that benefited you. Though I imagine you guys were well equipped to handle the hordes of Prometheans with that tank.

Only when the objective is to kill prometheans :unamused:

I haven’t played Firefight enough to notice.

This happened to me once when having to defend the cores. I think one wave spawned and then nothing after that. Not that that objective is hard anyway, but it was nice to be lazy for a change haha.

It’s just glitch that happens, couple of freinds get the same issue also. So far I havent gotten it so far.

Hears Yabda
So that’s what not having to deal with Palmer sounds like…

Oh yeah banshees in firefight seem to be notoriously glitchy. I had the same thing happen on Escape from ARC, more than once.

It’s nice. Yabda can be obnoxious, but I think he’s funny and he makes Palmer seem really generic and boring in comparison. I couldn’t stand to go back to firefighting with just Palmer, to be honest.

Sometimes there is one rogue promethian left somewhere on the map. Once you kill that last one, then the next wave spawns. They can be hard to find sometimes.

It’s true, that happens sometimes. But I don’t think that happened here because I looked all over the map in theater and still didn’t see any. And I don’t think this particular round waits for them all to die before spawning more anyway

Shame that the VoW pack brings the chances of suffering from a Black Screen of Death. Running anything other than the Default drastically increases the odds that you’ll be stuck looking at a black screen instead of loading into a game. Which is all kinds of sad because I love, love, looove listening to Buck :frowning:

As for the glitches… Hoooh boy, yeah I’ve had that a few times. First time ever was defending an artifact and ONE wave spawned while we sat there twiddling our thumbs for the next four and a half minutes for an easy win. It wasn’t as much fun when the objective was to kill X and we had TWO left to kill… And they never spawned. What a loss that was hah…

I got this once, before Monitor’s Bounty broke WZFF into difficulty tiers. Thankfully, it was on a defense objective, because there was no way in hell that my team was going to be able to defend a Forerunner core with only Assault Rifles and Magnums.

I know right? I was outraged when I first learned that the Voices of War pack was causing that. I really hope 343 fixes it. In fact, it’s kind of wrong for them not to fix it. Pretty sure somewhere around 100% of the DNFs on my service record are caused by it…

That’s upsetting!

This happened to me a few times on Round 5 where two Mythic Wardens are meant to lower down onto the map - but it takes them 30 or so seconds to start lowering. This cost me several wins where we were so close to killing the last Warden but because the game stole 30 seconds from us - we lost. BS.

Even death robots of the future sometimes need a break.

It’s happened to me in the same place.

They’re probably off having a Kit Kat break. Union rules, don’t ya know.

Should they even bother when seeing there’s a tank on the field?! "Forget thissh! Coffee break starts NOW!

I don’t see the VoW thing ever being fixed, which kinda sucks. In my experience it seems to trigger more often when you’re in a party than when you’re going at it solo.

Yeaaah it’s one of the worst ways to lose a WZFF game. “That one guy” who’s using an Assault Rifle the whole game whenever he’s not “Doin’ doughnuts” with his mongoose during Round 5 and “That other one guy” who’s spending the entire game either AFK’ing in a corner or trolling team mates are the next worst ways to lose a game.
I don’t get “That other one guy” much, but I do remember a while back one guy just sitting in a corner meleeing the wall up until Round 5, after he quickly sprang into action to shoot at the boss with an AR, and another game where TWO people (With similar gamertags) spent the entire match trolling me. Charging me out of my ghost then driving it off a cliff (Fun fact, the jackal the guy ran over in the process was his ONLY kill) and constantly trying to get me to run them over in my wraith by standing on top of it / running into the front… And when I finally switched into a Mantis (Guess what they did with the wraith when I got out of it? Yep, drove it off a cliff) they just followed me shooting it with an AR. We didn’t kill the swarmlords by the way. Legendary FF (It was before the Heroic/Legendary split) with two “players” down, so we didn’t stand a chance.

Which map was this? Because on Attack on Sanctum, you’re supposed to shoot the two energy orb things to make the Wardens appear. But if it was inside a base, maybe they decided to stay up at the top? I know that on some maps, like March on Stormbreak, if you get Swarmlords on round 5, you can actually fly a Banshee up there and behind the base through the top, and keep them up there for a bit before they jump down into the base

That’s too bad. Nothing you can do about stupid teammates. Recently I saw a player standing there doing nothing for the entire match, except pulling the control stick every so often just to avoid getting booted for idling. I just reported and moved on. I’d rather play with outright trolls than boosters who do nothing. At least the people who drive a Mongoose or a Scout hog throughout all five rounds can give me a laugh…

I’ve had the glitch where the swarm lords got stuck inside the wall, we managed to kill one using banshee ultras but the other one was busy digging in the dirt.
