Prometheans & Sentinel Safeguard Beams: Thoughts?

It never occured to me until recently why Soldiers and maybe Knights don’t use Sentinel Beams. What would you guys think about them using it in future game modes?

Don’t think it would really make sense since they’re pretty much anti-Flood weapons.

They’d be VERY ANNOYING. An enemy AI wielding these things have the potential to cross-map players and melt apart their shields with a fair degree of accuracy.

I haven’t played the campaign yet, but I could imagine there are no sentinels in this game. Just like how some halo installments have no brutes but plenty of hammers and the like.

I’d really prefer that they not do that.

  1. The Sentinel Beam is already dangerous enough as-is. Put it into the hands of the ridiculously powerful and accurate AI… well, long story short, lots of controller-throwing in the future.
  2. They don’t really match aesthetically (Yes, I know it’s a silly thing reason not to. But I care). Comparing the Safeguard Sentinel Beam with other Promethean weapons, it looks a lot simpler when it comes to the shapes and details used. It would look even more out of place, in my opinion, if we had the ridiculously complex-looking Knights and Soldiers using such a weapon.
