They seem kind of similar to the principle guardians from Borderlands. I went to play borderlands today to get ready for the release of #2 and ending up leveling a friend of mine who was online.
If you are not famililar with the guardian class enemy here it is : Guardian
It’s movements as well as energy like blades attached to its arms seem to be much like the knights. I am sure it is just a coincidence ,but I thought it was cool.

Incredible, it’s reminiscent of the Lancer in particular.

LOL they do remind me of mini Starscreams.
they remind me of butterflys… BUTTERFLYS THAT SPAWN DEATH
I can see the resembelence as well. I played BL before but never got that far. So I didnt know about guardians until after the Prometheans were shown, so I was like “oh crap! I’m fighting prometheans now!”
But in the sense of mechanical beings…they kind of remind me of if you took starscream’s body and put on megatron’s head (both from the movie versions.)

Yep they resemble each other from the bulky torso to the shape of the head.
They teleport and slice you up. The knights and guardians are the same! 
Good thing borderlands isn’t owned by apple!
