Prometheans are NOT Foreunners

I just wanted people to be aware that the prometheans are characters that we fight in the game. Forerunners are the first species in the Halo universe and saved all other species from the flood. The forerunners did build the prometheans, but prometheans are NOT forerunners. Just wanted to put that out there for people who call the characters we fight in warzone forerunners because some people really need to get their Halo lore right before complaining about what is weak or too powerful.

Forerunners are Sentinels, Builders, Monitors, etc.

Exactly, they are an organic, living race that died a long time ago, not the prometheans we fight in game.

Prometheans were a subsection of the entire Forerunner race. For humanities labeling purposes, anything built by the Forerunners is classified as Forerunner in origin. Also, the Ur-Didact himself was a Promethean, and he was 100% original Forerunner.

The Prometheans are humans that have been downloaded into the forerunners AI’s and are forced to fight and defend forerunner facility’s

Prometheans weren’t only composed Humans. There were Forerunners who were composed that formed some of the earliest Knights/etc. Didact did later use the Composer against the ancient Humans to bolster his Promethean ranks.

Either way there is nothing wrong with referring to the Prometheans as forerunners is just how people see them.

Promethean’s were a group of the Warrior-Servant class. They absolutely are Forerunners. It just so happens that the Prometheans that we fight in the H4 and H5 are constructs/composed humans. The Didact is in fact a Promethean…and a Forerunner.

Seriously. And everybody needs to do it. I feel like I know a decent amount about Halo lore (although one trip to the Universe section of the forums will set 99% of us straight on that belief. those guys are on another level.), but when I post something correcting people about lore on here, I usually triple-check Halopedia, just to be sure that what I’m saying isn’t wrong, or a half-truth, or anything that could be construed as misleading. Because someone WILL call you out on it.

I haven’t double checked, but the first ever Prometheans were the Forerunners when trying to find immunity from the Flood correct? Tried to turn themselves digital basically ands be immortal bit it backfired?

I believe that is correct, later they used it as a weapon to “enslave” the humans at the time before devolving the rest.

I sometimes refer to them as forerunners because its forerunner tech regardless of what beginning is inside. Such as the monitors, 343 is a human mind in a monitor body.

That’s right, they were used to fight the flood for Ur-didact since he despised the human race for attacking their world’s top destroy the flood. Skewing off topic the Flood were originally Precursors but they didn’t become immortal like expected and then decided to take revenge on the Forerunners in which they tried to become immortal and then that backfired as well.

Good corrections, although the Prometheans were around before the Flood, they were the upper echelon of the Warrior-Servants. The Didact had ordered his original Prometheans to be composed and transferred into mechanical bodies (Knights) because they were supposed to be immune to infection since they wouldn’t be organic. His shield worlds and the mechanizing of his trusted warriors were his solution to the Flood, seeing as he did not feel the Halo Array would work. He also followed the Librarian to the Greater Ark, where he composed a large portion of the Librarian’s human subjects on the last Halo ring to be constructed at the Greater Ark, before the Flood fleet led by Gravemind/Mendicant Bias destroyed it. He used the composed humans to bolster the ranks of his Prometheans. The Librarian, having ordered he Lifeshapers to collect what they could of human subjects on Earth, then imprinted Chant-to-Green her most trusted Lifeshaper and sent her and the Iso-Didact away to the Lesser Ark (installation 00). But these are the quick versions of a long story. Sorry OP but the Forerunner’s didn’t save us from the Flood, the Lifeshaper’s efforts to save the genomes of sentient species, and the Master Builder’s Halo Array did, the majority of Forerunner’s were fine with seeing us wiped out and probly never coming back. Also the Precursor’s created the Flood as revenge against the Forerunner for their genocide of their species…Forerunners aint so nice for the most part after all

Stud Prometheus were created by the forerunners to help fight the war with the flood

Besides the Didact, we have never fought an actual Promethean. The enemies in-game are Promethean constructs.

The forerunners were not the first race, the precursors were around before them

That’s like calling a house cat a lion…

They are not Forerunners. Noun. They are Forerunner. Adjective.

Prometheans are construct but with the essence of both Forerunners and Humans. Its explained towords the end of the third book of the Forerunner Saga and if you don’t want to read the books theres wikipedia and what not that will give you the short versions of books. Didact had ordered his Prometheans plus his second in command Endurance-of-Will to have themselves composed on Requiem (not sure about other shield worlds). Then he also took a bunch of humans from the Librarian, and composed them as well. All of these composed essences, the Prometheans, Endurance-of-Will and the humans stolen from the Librarian at the Greater Ark were used for these “constructs”, they are inside them kind of like a soul. Another example of this is actually 343 Guilty Spark whose essence is both Chakas a human from after the fall of the ancient human’s empire, and Lord Admiral Forthencho, who was the commander of the ancient human’s fleets and I think ground forces (dunno). Hence my earlier comment.

This is wrong.
