This weapon is basically for the skilled players who can pin-point accuracy as well as the noobs…
The idea of this weapon is it has two comparative fires modes, one shoots super-heated photons and the other concentrated hard-light, each mode would be separate in mechanics, so recoil, accuracy damage etc.
Unzoomed
When firing from the hip (unzoomed), the Terminus Rifle fires short rapid bursts of photons like this (ignore the squeaker), the quick fire and damage would be balanced by the inaccurate spread and recoil of the gun… the redicule may be somewhat large. The weapon’s damage is boosted on head shots.
Zoomed
When zoomed in the Terminus Rifle fires hard-light, at a slower rate however its targeting system changes dramatically. The weapons redicule has now become really precise, somewhat like the binary rifle, and it has a unique feature… the gun itself pin-points weak points in enemy armor, to which the user must target each point in the correct sequence… like three points… to get the kill. This would really be good for that really accurate player… if by any circumstance the weapon fails to accurately target the positions in the sequence presented… the weapon momentarily shuts down to recharge.

Hmm… I see where you’re coming from with this. It seems like the Scattershot meets the Binary Rifle meets the BR meets the MK5 from Titanfall. They’re good ideas, but it may suffer from trying to be too many things at once. It’s a multi-range weapon, so in order for it to not be OP, it would have to have less-than-average damage/utility in each range, so it ends up as a bad weapon. That and the fact that it would be almost impossible for even a good player to get the manual-lock-ons on a strafing and jumping player.
