Promethean Vison: What do you think?

For those who don’t know, Promethean Vision (formerly known as Forerunner Vision) allows you to see through walls. However, not only does this mess up your HUD, the range is quite limited and it does give your position away while in use. Camo and Hologram can also trick the vision (how they do this is has yet to be revealed). It’s already been stated that players with good situation awareness will not need to use this AA.

It’s not like an instant wall hax like Counter Strike where you can see through every wall but more like a Sonar that pulses in a limited range (if you’ve played MGS 3 Snake Eater, its pretty similar in concept).

What’s your thoughts on this new AA so far? Overpowered? Useless? Cool?

I have to see it in action first, but right now, I just don’t like the idea of it.

Sounds intriguing, let’s leave it at that. But when compared to JP it becomes utterly useless just as every other AA.

It seems useless from what i’ve heard about it.

I am curious about it’s applications towards enemies that are in active camo. If you can see them clearly, I will use it occasionally to battle enemies using active camo or campers.

I haven’t played the game yet. Any opinion I give on this is invalid.

meh need more details to see how its useful in gameplay

OP, you also forgot enemy players are alerted by a ringing sound and I think a text message. This alerts others someone is using it around them.

With that said, it’ll be good to know where HLG guys are hiding.

It’ll probably be an AA that I will use to see how it functions but later toss it aside for another. I mean, I have pretty good situational awareness when it comes to Halo so I will probably just end up using another AA.

I can’t really tell until it’s in action, but it seems very weak. I see how they don’t want to make it overpowering but still, if you make it too under-powered, no ones going to use it and it’s just a waste of time to put it in the game. They should at least have it so you could see OPs in camo. But like I said, I’m waiting to see it in action before I judge too seriously.

Forerunner Vision sounded better.

And it sound like sonar, what’s with the promeathean and forerunner crap?

I don’t like the sound of it, but I’m keeping an open mind until I see how it works.

Me thinks me is gonna fight some prometheans in the campaign! As for MM I have faith they will balance it properly.

Actually I like Promethean Vision more. It’s pretty the same thing, just more specific and I’ll explain why.

If i am correct (and going off the 10th terminal in CE:A) Prometheans were Forerunners. To be specific, a powerful, Elite warrior class.

To me this sounds like the Aliens tracking device used by the marines in the game, but the Predator version. Sounds neat though might try it for a game or 2 when it comes out.

It sounds interesting. I’ll probably use it occasionally, but I don’t think it’ll be my favorite Armor Ability, though.

Perhaps but as i said before, if you have good awareness, you really don’t need to use Promethean vision.

Of course, i can it see it being useful for campers but they’ll know your using it so i am not quite sure (in it’s current form) if it’s going to be used often.

I’d rather have a camper around a corner with a shotgun know I can see him then be blindsided by it. Like I said, used properly, this can be good in multiple ways, but like it sounds, its really going to be something they need to tweak to perfection. Which they are, so no worries…
