I really enjoyed Promethean Vision in Halo 4. I am aware of the backlash due to it killing certain sneaky tactics, but what if it were a powerup with a timer? This would be nifty in Warzone for taking bases and spotting campers. In Warzone Assault, some defenders will use an Active Camo REQ and hide in a quiet spot until the timer runs out. Just like in Halo 4, anyone with Active Camo would still be harder to spot. I’m thinking that it’d be a higher tier REQ, like level 5. It doesn’t have to work exactly like Halo 4. It could even be a pinging system.
Ready for your backlash.
No, I don’t like the idea, but have a counter offer which you might be interested in. What if they made a Promethean Vision scope? And it would be like a rare or ultra rare req and you must Smart Link to use it.
I don’t like either of your ideas. Line of sight and first shot advantage are too important in FPS gaming to be handing out freely. It’s bad enough that players can spawn invisible.
“Ready for your backlash”
Almost implying this was a flamebait thread there. On the off-chance you legit want it back and the thread wasn’t created with the intention of trolling… No, don’t bring it back. Campaign, maybe (Like the Artemis but better) but multiplayer PV can remain in the same bio-hazard garbage bin that Armor Lock got sent to.
i enjoyed ruining peoples plans with promethean vision but there arent any actual armor abilities other than the thruster pack so i dont belive it could work out that well in 5
I was never a fan of Promethean Vision.
You don’t need Promethean Vision in Halo 5, because I think it really sucks when you’re in a brighter foggier area.
Bad idea for Arena, but good idea for Warzone maybe. Warzone is already unbalanced so I could see it working there.

“To me it’s a bad idea and truly not necessary” according to my slight knowledge of spanish. Feel free to correct me.
Anyway, some sort of promethean vision scope like SaneMountain suggested would be interesting, but it would have to be a power weapon or a very high REQ level to be in any way barely balanced.

I think if it was like req level 7 or 8 it would be fine due to what’s gonna be out there in that level.

Yeah, a BR that can see people through walls is little threat to a phaeton without proper strategy.

Honestly that should’a been the morph scope.
What is that scope even good for?

Isn’t the zoom the same as the DMR or something? Becuase the Morph scope should’ve just been what I said.

It’s a lightrifle scope, which I think is more or less similar to the DMR’s in terms of zoom…?
IMO the scopes - Hybrid, COG, Morph - are really cool and fun to use, but their usefulness is dampened considerably by the fact you can’t use weapon attachments. If it was like… You open the Loadout for the Battle Rifle… It’d show just these:
BR, Longshot, Sentinel, Hybrid, Classic, COG, MorphAnd then picking one, you’d see the attachments you can load onto it, ranging from ‘Default / No Attachment’ all the way to the newer ones like Knight Blade, Threat Marker, Sound Dampener…
It’d reduce the clutter on the Loadout screen, and in Forge you’d just have the base weapons and sights, then just click Item Properties to stick the attachments on rather than have dozens of individual weapons for each scope and attachment combination.
Simple, effective. And all the scopes get some love. Because I’d really like to couple COG with Long Barrel or Sound Dampener :’(
Maybe ske7ch can subtly suggest those changes to someone in charge of these things XD
I like it as a power up, I think it’d be cool to bring back.

Well, we’re not gonna get that in Halo 5. Thing is, the attachments are “added” by way of being a different weapon entity entirely. Think about how a standard AR can’t pick up Longshot AR Ammo. It’s dumb right? But the mechanical aspect of the game registers it as an entirely different weapon.
So that’s why what you suggest, even though I’d love it, just won’t work in Halo 5. It isn’t hard to do properly though, and we can probably expect it in 6. Personally, I have mixed feelings about attachments. I believe that having augmented weapons is a good thing, but I’m also against it for the reason that Halo is a game where weapons need at least one, singular defined role they excel at. (Which is why I despise the Battle Rifle, it’s good at too many roles.)

I agree. The menu is far too cluttered up with useless variants that I never use. I’d much rather be able to choose a scope and attachment, I could think of some really good combinations too.

Wuould require a rewrite in the mechanics then
Maybe for Halo 6 xD

Exactly, yeah.
