More gamebreaking than sprint in Reach. May as well buy a few controllers before release as im gonna need some replacements with the rage that will be caused by that horrifying disgusting scum of all existance armor ability.

Reach fan boys are welcome to disagree.

It looks fine. It won’t work as well on maps like adrift where there are many corridors and hallways. Can we please let 343i change that in an update because we honestly haven’t seen enough to know if it is that overpowered? I wouldn’t mind little changes, but I want to play it before they make drastic changes to the charge times or effectiveness.

I really dont know how this is going to effect the game as most of us haven’t even tried it yet.I know there will be however game types that don’t allow armor abilities at all.Which in the long run will save you from buying some controllers :stuck_out_tongue:

I like sprint. I could due without the heavy breathing though

People and their pet peeves. lol

Seeing people behind walls…yeah, it’s pretty crazy.
Seeing people behind walls half across the map?! Aaaaaaaaagggggghhhhh!

That is all.

Man, people just love to cry.

maybe when you have a sniper you can position your self hidden and unseen until all players across map are highlighted then pic them off one by one. and I know we don’t know how it plays but I will say that the time it takes to scan players isn’t the problem but the scarce restrictions placed on it. Sound will not be enough for the player new to halo not knowing what it is. Also you also need to take into account combos that can be used with this AA. grenades around corners may be very easy tactics, maybe add a plasma weapon to pop the shield down and run out for team mates to clean up. The entire balance of this will have to be the timer on it, how long it takes to use again, and the speed from point a to point b.

I don’t think hearing that from a company that has made no game before will bring ease to my heart the more I think about it. I think not having open beta may turn out to be a huge mistake for them but I’ll give them a chance as well and say they had many years to plan this out and have the most to prove. I wish them luck not for their well being but for mine.

They will obviously tweak its usefulness, because they do not want any one AA to be the be-all of Armor Abilities.

Furthermore, seeing through walls is a futuristic feature that has been featured in this year’s Ghost Recon, and will be featured in Black Ops 2. Futuristic games are utilizing this mechanic a lot, so if anything, Halo 4 was simply going along with the futuristic trend, which is ironic since Halo is more futuristic than any of the others, so logically, its X-ray vision should be the most useful.

From what I’ve seen it really doesn’t seem that overpowered. It takes a few seconds for people to actually be seen with it, it can easily be fooled by hologram, and I think it has a set radius. Also, just because you have knowledge that an enemy is around the corner, doesn’t mean that you will automatically win. There are plenty of ways to overcome this armor ability.

Beside all of that, promethean vision looks like it could be used for interesting custom games. A predator gametype with this could be interesting.

How do you know this technology would be good for gameplay wise any way? It makes sense when you talk about in a sense of time but so does armor lock and they took that out. There is no need to add trends that are growing in more games if it will break yours. although I do agree that 343i will try their best to balance it, I may also believe they may have bit off more then they can chew here. Props if they pull it off and balance it in all new halo games that will be made.

I didn’t know it allowed you to shoot through walls!

Oh wait…it never did.

I never said it wouldn’t be possible to beat I simply stated that it may be unbalance with other armor ability’s because of the combos people may use.

hahaha…

If you’re already planning on having a hissy rage fit you might as well avoid Halo 4 or go get help.

PV also isn’t that bad and is getting weakened before release. Not to mention the fact that it hardly does anything more than a radar for players that actually pay attention to it. Armor lock was way worse in every possible way.

AND… Thruster pack > PV.

I never said it automatically would be balanced, I said it made sense to make an appearance. If it turns out that Pro Vision is unbalanced, then whoop-de-do! Have a party, throw it in our faces all you like. But right now, your accusations are hollow, and your assumptions are futile, because the game hasn’t even released yet.

Wow, we’ve never seen this on the halo 4 forums before. And no, I disagree just to let you know.

The campers are gonna be so angry that they can’t effectively camp anymore, and thus won’t get any kills in MP. Why else would people complain about this?

Don’t you understand that campers will use this feature as well? They will be able to watch incoming players who try to take them out. Geez.
