Okay so I had this really weird thought earlier this day. A way to balance Promethean Vision and add in night vision. For Promethean Vision instead it would show a symbol that moves around when you enemy moves around. Also Promethean Vision would pick up a hologram as an enemy it would not pick up an enemy once he/she is in active camo even when it just starts or when you are moving around. Night vision is self explanatory but in conditions like when it is really dark (If halo 5 will allow that.). Whilst not being able to see through walls the night vision would last longer than Promethean vision, be very effective at clocked enemy’s and it would look great for Machinima/Screenshots. What do you guys think?
i’d prefer night vision over promethean vision.
I’d prefer a VISR mode from ODST. Makes more logical sense to me.
I agreee with L0NEW0LF, VISR should be returning instead of Promethean Vision, and even then, only in campaign. Promethean Vision is a cheap tool that prevents anybody from sneaking up or setting up a trap against their enemies.
The 1 way to make Promethian Vision balanced:
Make it just like Titanfall’s Active Radar Pulse.
Just bring back VISR mode. Then we wouldn’t need either.

I’d much rather just turn it into a powerup… That way, it doesn’t have to be nerfed as a spawn-item.

For those of us who haven’t played Titanfall, how does the Active Radar Pulse work?

It’s just as annoying and strategy-destroying as Promethean Vision. Don’t worry about it.

Imagine if Promethian vision spaced out faster, and in pulses. This means when the pulse comes across an enemy, it’s spotted, but only for that immediate point in time do you see the enemy. You get multiple pulses or so in 1 use, but it never completely reveals enemy movement, just the immediate location.
Look at the clips here from 50 seconds in and on
It still makes it useful, but not so much that you can immediately tell what the enemy is doing. It’s basically pulsing the wave instead of it being constantly active like in Halo 4.

The only reason that Promethean Vision ‘destroys strategy’ is because it can ruin the ability to surprise your opponents and can ensure the safety of campers… And that’s because you can spawn with it.
If it was a powerup, akin to the Overshield and/or Active Camouflage, and placed on the map, there wouldn’t be many issues.

It’s also the best AA to counter/prevent camping as it is the best AA that encourages it, It’s really weird.
For Campaign, I’ve very much like VISR to be low light aid for the player instead of night vision or Promethean Vision. There really is no reason why the player shouldn’t have access to it.
As for a fair “wall hack” ability in multiplayer, I’d like something like the Beacon Grenade from Gears of War: Judgement, though probably with a smaller radius than in GoW. Have a player toss it out, put up a “bubble” that is visible to everyone, and enemies that pass through it are shown to your whole team. It promotes team play and should greatly reduce the camping that Promethean Vision allows.
Mmm… I don’t understand why we can’t just have both. Night vision was a fun little thing in Campaign and Firefight, and Promethean Vision is pretty useful as-is, depending on the situation and the user.

We can’t have both because:
- It would just be a wasted button on a limited controller
- Why would someone use nightvision to see in the dark when they can have an ability that also sees enemies in the dark and through walls
