First of all: Halo 4 looks awesome! Can not wait to play. Ive loved every halo game since CE (except Reach eww), and Halo 4 seems like its going to be a nice addition to the halo series.

Now on to the main discussion.

The “broken” Promethean vision:
I know most of you have seen the video where all the MLG guys where using Promethean vision exclusively. What some of you fail to realize is that the game they played is a early build and most of the things that make Promethean vision “UN-broken” if you will, are still not in the game.

For example Frankie has mentioned that once you use Promethean vision on someone they are notified by a notable sound. Not only that but a system was implemented where Promethean vision, when in use, allows the enemy to know your position. These where still not implemented in the build the mlg guys played.

So be patient!

Second, The Battle Rifle:

The battle rifle is an iconic weapon in the halo series. The battle rifle was part of the reason halo 2 exploded unto the competitive scene and part of the reason why halo 3 had such a lasting appeal. It is a great enough weapon that it inspires fans to come on the forum and complain about it being 4shot/5 shot. So Ill give my opinion on the status of the battle rifle.

The battle rifle in its current state is a well balanced weapon. It kills in five shots, and its seen to have enough killing power to deal in most situations excluding extreme close combat. The addition of recoil is a welcome addition as opposed to including bloom. However the reason for recoil, I believe, is to balance the weapon against the carbine (spread), and the DMR (bloom).

From what I’ve seen the DMR and the carbine completely outperform the battle rifle in terms of power. I dont think its intended and I believe this will change. I would like to see the weapon get either an increase in firing rate, or a increase in damage to make it a 4sk.

If it doesnt then I will leave this game FOREVER!.. Not really, just making fun of some people that say that.

Truthfully it wouldnt be a big deal if it doesnt receive a boost but from what Ive observed the carbine (for example)outperforms it in firing rate, killing time, versatility and range. I dont think the iconic BR should be the weakest of the utility ranged weapons. But thats my opinion of course.

So a question to you: What is your opinion? Are the checks to Promethean vision going to be enough? Does the br deserve a boost to power? Firing rate?

visible sound? Anyways, I agree the BR should be a 4sk. It would be underpowered if it wasn’t. Just by looking at the BR’s clip capacity (36) there are enough rounds for 2 kills if it is a 4sk which is in keeping with all the other utility weapons. As for promethean vision I don’t think it’s OP. Yes it might stop you walking into a camping shotty but in an even matched battle it would do nothing while there are other AA that can give you much more of an edge.

I think that would be a cool idea actually if PV gives off your position on the MT if you are trying to stay still and use it. Kinda gives a fair trade: I see exactly where you at and what you’re doing, you see me exactly where I’m at(on the radar).

Gives people a reason to sit back and use their third AA: Peripheral Vision.

As for the BR, I’m ok with the damage so long as everything else can get the same treatment as well. I don’t want a 4sk BR if everything else can’t do their job.

I got to use BR, DMR, and AR at RTK and I am an AVID BR fan and kept going back to it EVEN THOUGH…

THE DMR IS BEAST, it actually seems like you can fire fiaster w/MUCH LESS BLOOM and I think as it sits is a little more powerful than the BR.

The AR is pretty well balanced and useful in it’s current state as well as the DMR and BR.

I’m sure there will be tweaks in the weeks to follow launch but ALL THE WEAPONS I USED, pistol, Ppistol, carbine, DMR, AR, BR seem VERY BALNACED in their current build.

The only problem, (and this is if you are a BR ONLY person) is that the BR seems a little week on the long end of the range but that is how it’s supposed to be.

You’re askin the BR to be more overpowered then all the weapons making it 4 shot. It’s not going to happen so stop asking. The goal was to balance weapons not make the BR the most effective weapon again. To be honest I never much liked the BR it’s more of a spray weapon not accurate DMR ftw
