Promethean Tank?

So, I know there are very divided opinions regarding whether 343i listen to player feedback or ideas, but…

Considering balance (I know P rometheans are OP, but hear me out), what if a tank/artillery/gun carriage was developed as an item or REQ for H6?

I’m thinking a squad-served vehicle with a splinter or heavy suppressor turret, and a fast-burst cleansing beam cannon.

Any thoughts on arn armament, strengths, weaknesses?

Its a cool idea, and I know there was always an idea for a Forerunner Tank in Halo 2, so it could very well become a possiblity for Halo 6.

On a side note, the exclamation marks in this thread’s title might lead others to think that you’re sharing info regarding the announcment of a Promethean Tank, just letting you know.

Good idea!

Good call, I shall fix.

did you say req oh god i dont want reqs in halo 6

Made a thread about this and If they made one it should be like a hybrid of a Scorpion and Wraith with the boost and hovering and the Scorpion main cannon that can rotate 360.

My idea for a Promethean tank, would be:

  • Main cannon: Phaeton Helios Laser - Two mini turrets on the sides of the tank for players to control. It would fire suppressor shots.

Yeah, I hear ya…but the reality is probably that REQs are here to stay, in some form…
Ever since Reach introduced Armor Abilities, they’ve been here, in some form.

Good thoughts…I think that the trick would always be making sure to balance strengths and weaknesses, so it doesn’t become OP. Scorpion has better accuracy, and is easier to get on target, but is slower, and harder to maneuver precisely. Wraith is much easier to handle, has boost and strafe, and an (arguably) stronger main weapon, but is harder to get on target and lighter armor.
Promethean tank would have to balance strengths with weaknesses. I like the idea of mannable turrets: great field of fire, but this would have to be balanced with something…perhaps the main weapon would also be externally manned, exposing the operator to fire, and making hijacks more easy?
Good ideas welcome…

I think the Forerunner vehicles should all have the strafe ability like the Phaeton. It would be similar to how all the Covie vehicles have the boost. With the Forerunner tank, it would have the least amount of armor, but it excels at dodging with the strafe.

Have the tank hover slightly higher to make hijacking difficult but low amounts of armor with weak primary fire (relative to scorpion and wraith) and the strafe ability have more range.

Kind of makes me wonder; if it has weak primary fire, would this offset the greater range of manned turrets? Also, if the primary weapon is weaker (relatively), would it be worth having, or would the stronger turret functionality make up for it? Perhaps a primary weapon that is some variant of the Splinter Turret…perhaps Splinter Burst or Splinter Mortar.

Good input… I hope to see something like this in H6

Well, I don’t know about how fast it would move, but I was thinking that the laser cannon wouldn’t be too strong. It would be almost like an anti-infantry tank, but a little more damage than it takes to kill a spartan. So ultimately weaker damage than a scorpion and wraith, but possibly faster moving with no boost. Then the two turrets would help ‘up’ the damage. That sound reasonable?

It should also fly and couldn’t be destroyed human and covenant weaponry like -Yoinking!- Forerunner war machine should work.

That sounds like a good ratio…anti infantry monster that causes fear and loathing on the battlefield.

i still wish they would go back to reachs credit system like say you earned 2000 credits and you go to the armory and there are categorys with emblem/armor/weapon skin/guns etc and have like the legendary ones costing like 2million credits for one thing that would be good replay value not this random bs

The secondary shots on the Phaeton ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The Reach credits system was above perfect. This req system is below average.

The closest thing to a Promethean tank is the Soldier Guard. Those things are the bane of my existence in WZFF… Even Knights aren’t so deadly-annoying as Soldier Guards.

I love Reach, but the credits system was -Yoink-. Nobody played custom games because they wanted to unlock stuff.
