This scrapped promethean design should come back with the name “Promethean Tank” forms. They should stand at 15-16 feet tall.
They should be the Covenant Hunter equivalent for the Prometheans, the strongest enemies in the game. The way they could work is basically be a nearly invincible foe.
The way they look, in my mind I think bullet sponge. Their technology is so great that rocket launchers barely hurt them. They could act kind of like vehicles (in big vehicle battles like the two scarabs) and can only be destroyed by using vehicles to take them down.
I love their art designs SO much. It makes me sad that they were scrapped. They look so SCARY. While they are machine, they remind me of the flood of how scary and deformed they look.
When I fight enemies I want a sense of fear and terror. The flood have been the only enemy to give me that buzz (wich has worn off over the years). If I saw these enemies in game I would cry tears of fear. They are so scary! In a great way!

Promethean Tank vs Flood Juggernaut… well prometheans were designed to kill flood (hence desintigration weapons to stop infection spreading). Promethean Tank is cooler.

You better make them bigger than that, Knights are already >10 feet tall.
And “tank form” is already the name of a Flood creature. A fancier name wouldn’t hurt.
That actually looks relatively flimsy compaired to the current knight, its just got more leg.
I think what 343i is going for with Halo 5 is having the Knights as more of a Hunter variant for the Promethean’s, while the Promethean Soldier is taking on their Halo 4 role of primary infantry.
Without knowing all the Promethean types in Halo 5 (There could obviously be more), I see the rough equivalents as for Covenant enemies as…
Crawler = Grunt
Soldier = Elite
Knight = Hunter
Watcher = Drone (Just as a flying enemy type they obviously have significant differences)
We haven’t seen any kind of Jackal equivalent for the Prometheans yet.
Oh man they look like a crossover of Ant-man and a T-Rex
always loved those tiny arms
I want them in…the prometheans lack such unit sorely…now that we have soldiers, knights and captains we need a tank
Also…LITERAL prometheans tanks as in vehicles
I like the concept especially that it would make for a decent boss if it also has the ability to teleport and it could deploy crawlers and knights.

It does not look flimsy, it looks like an indstructible creature that is scary. I can imagine lobbing rocket launchers at it and it still keeps walking towards me slowly.

well, i’m rather with him on this one.
they don’t scare me at all tbh.
the only thing that scares me about them, is the thought, that they’re just taller bullet sponges.
There’s usually a reason why a design or concept is scrapped, namely if it didn’t work. If the design was deemed unsuitable before, they’re probably not going to try and bring it back.
Ehh, i mean the Knights were already such a major bullet sponge, I’m not sure i could handle an even bigger version.
They look way too thin and lanky to be called “tanks” or any equivalent of that. I’m glad they scrapped that design, though the Knights aren’t all that much better either.
A lot of these would work well as a heavy unity. I think B and Q would work out nice.
