I’m a little confused, for a while now I’ve believed the Promethean Knights to be AI in suits of armor. However, after looking at the concept art, I saw a highlighted body inside the armor. It looked like there was actually a living Forerunner inside the armor. Are they Forerunner or AI?
I’m pretty sure they are just straight-up Forerunners.
We won’t know for sure 'til we play the game. But my theory is that they were once Prometheans who were composed and put in constructs to protect them from the Flood.
We don’t know for sure, Crawlers are AIs for sure, Cortana wasn’t sure about Knights back at E3 tough.

The Didact and Librarian are the only known living Forerunners.

As far as I know (unless it’s changed) they aren’t organic and the Forerunners are, Promethean Knights, Crawlers, and Watchers may be modeled after organic Forerunners but I’m pretty sure they’re not.

The Didact is called a Promethean in ‘Cryptum’
I’d say they are composed beings, doubt they are forerunners though.
