I swear 343i’s thinking when creating the knights wen something like this: “Hey guys, let’s make an common enemy, for the Forerunners, to reflect the role the Elites play in the Covenant. Alright, now let’s give it powerful weapons, that are often 1sk. Then give it a 1sk Sword thing. And give it strong shielding, and a tiny headshot hitbox. Alright, is it strong enough yet? No? Okay, give it the ability to teleport out of danger. Okay, so now it’s super dangerous in close range, and everyone’s just going to attack it from long range. Well, why not make it so that it can flash very quickly to beside the player, at any distance, before slicing them with it’s 1sk sword. And let’s not give any ques to the player when this is about to happen. Okay make it’s shields recharge super fast. Alright, now put multiples of this enemy in every room. OH AND LAST, LETS GIVE IT A PET FLYING THING, THAT CAN REVIVE IT REPEATEDLY.”
Seriously, I have never fought an enemy so ridiculously OP in any game. I’d rather take on 4 hunters with a Magnum, than 1 Knight with a Rocket Launcher.
I found them extremely difficult when I first encountered them, now I can kill them with ease. You just have to study their characteristics, just like any other enemy, and you will be a Knight slayer in no time. And I believe there is a visual cue for wen they’re about to do their melee charge.

Don’t get me wrong, I can kill them fine. I worked out how to pretty fast. It doesn’t stop the fact that they’re ridiculously strong, compared to any previous enemy.
Look buddy, having beat the legendary campaign solo, i can tell you they’re really not that bad. Here’s what you have to do: HORDE POWER WEAPONS. Every level there are hidden power weapons (or retrievable from enemies) such as the rocket launcher or the incinerator cannon and they can easily one shot any knight. If you can’t find one you can always go for the next best thing: plasma pistol plus headshot weapon combo. And if THAT doesn’t work for you there’s always the shotgun/scattershot. All excellent choices.
I’ve personally never let their floating compatriots live long enough to revive them. They should be your primary target FROM RANGE (if possible)
Oh, and I also forgot something. I have noticed that they will only ever spawn 1 single watcher. Once you kill the watcher, they will never spawn another one, no matter how long you take. I find that slightly amusing since 343i stated that they would continuously change the tide of battle. I have never once experienced that.

I think what 343i might have meant is that the Watchers can change the battle, with their revive ability. Also, to everyone telling me how to beat them, I’ll repeat that I find them easy to kill. That doesn’t make them not OP.

It doesn’t?
I just find the Knights boring to fight. Taking down an Elite usually required switching between two different weapons, but the Knights just act like damage sponges. What’s more, they seem to have few if any visual tells for when their “shields” are low or depleted, or even when they’re getting hit. It would have been nice to see some sort of visual change when their health was low (possibly a loss of armour or a change in colour) as well as a behavioural change (e.g. switching to close range combat only).

That’s what I’m getting at. There’s no real way to know whether you’re winning or not, so fighting them is just annoying. And then 1sk sword plus offensive teleportation is just dumb.
